Super Mario Run Won’t Come to Nintendo Switch

Super Mario Run isn't planned for a release on Nintendo Switch.

Speaking to CNET, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime explained why the mobile game won't move to the upcoming hybrid console. "Development for Super Mario Run is different than development for Nintendo Switch," he said. "With Switch we're going to have a variety of input devices, a variety of ways for you to interact with the game."

"Here, it's all the screen. So it's a different type of development challenge. But at the core, our developers are looking to create content that you really can't get anywhere else, you can't experience anywhere else ... that's a core philosophy that's going to continue."

Sea of Thieves will be getting a technical alpha playtest starting on December 16 for selected players from the game's Insider Programme.

The first technical alpha will help "make meaningful changes" to Sea of Thieves through Insider feedback, testing, and data insights, according to developer Rare. No word was given as to what will be available in the playtest as its contents are subject to the NDA all Insiders must agree to when signing up for the Insider Programme.

EA Announces Sea of Solitude

The next EA Originals game is Sea of Solitude, by Cornelia Geppert and her team Jo-Mei Games.

Patrick Söderlund, executive VP at EA, revealed the partnership with Sea of Solitude on the company's website. "Like many of you, I saw the first glimpses of Sea of Solitude last year," he wrote.

"I was stunned by the intensity of the imagery and the emotional view into the universe of Kay, the central character."

In Sea of Solitude's world, humans become monsters if they become too lonely. That's apparently the case with Kay, who is looking for a way to change back.

Into the Badlands: Season 2’s Fight’s Will Be Even Bigger

AMC's action-packed Into the Badlands is returning next year and IGN has a look behind-the-scenes at the show's Fight Camp.

Season 1 established the show's post-apocalyptic, feudal-inspired world, filled with Barons and their armies, known as "Clippers." And wow can these characters fight, beginning with Sunny (Daniel Wu, who also executive produces).

In the clip below, you'll see the training for Season 2 that took place in Ireland -- where the show now films -- with a focus on Into the Badlands' formidable females, as Emily Beecham (playing the incredibly deadly Baron known as "The Widow"), Ally Ioannides (as Tilda, the Widow's daughter) and Sarah Bolger (as the surprisingly manipulative Jade), along with Wu and stunt coordinator Mickey Facchinello, discuss what goes into learning to fight in the Badlands. The inclusion of Bolger is especially notable, given we never saw Jade fight in Season 1 - strongly indicating the character might have some new skills in Season 2.
