Star Trek: Discovery Casts Klingons

Star Trek: Discovery has cast three important Klingon characters.

Variety reports that Shazad Latif (Penny Dreadful), Mary Chieffo (Shelby's Vacation), and Chris Obi (Ghost in the Shell), are set to play three different members of one of the most villainous and fan-favorite alien species in the sci-fi series.

Chieffo will star as L'Rell, a battle deck commander of the Klingon ship. Obi will play a Klingon leader, T’Kuvma, who's seeking to unite the Klingon houses. Latif will portray T’Kuvma's protege Kol, who's also a commanding officer of the Klingons.

Earlier this year, Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones, and Anthony Rapp had been cast in Star Trek: Discovery as well. IGN interviewed the show's producer, Alex Kurtzman, about the casting and why he's excited about the characters all three actors will get to play.

Why Will Smith Chose Suicide Squad Over ID4 Sequel

Oscar-nominated actor Will Smith has opened up about why he selected to appear Suicide Squad over Independence Day: Resurgence.

According to EW, Smith explained at Facebook Headquarters last week that he wanted to forge a new path ahead as Deadshot instead of looking back. "I had to choose between the two of those,” Smith said.

Smith said it was largely a matter of "trying to go forward versus clinging and clawing backward," saying he strives to "aggressively go forward and do new things," in hopes it will lead him to "stumble upon a new heyday."

Smith's breakout film role was arguably the original Independence Day, in which he played Captain Steven Hiller. Because Smith skipped the sequel, Hiller was killed off-screen.

Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk Gets Posters

New posters for Christopher Nolan's upcoming World War II film, Dunkirk, have been released.

Since Dunkirk is described as a World War II epic, the posters indeed focus heavily on the horrors of that war, and the unsettling influence and power of Nazi propaganda.

The first poster below shows a lone man staring blankly at, what seems like, a war torn battlefield complete with fire, debris, and a few soldiers jumping off some sort of a cliff in the left corner of the image. There's also an interesting line that reads, "The Event That Shaped Our World."

Pichu, Togepi Coming to Pokemon Go

Niantic has announced that new Pokemon from Pokemon Gold and Silver are coming to Pokemon Go.

Starting today, trainers will be able to find Togepi and Pichu in eggs, as well as “select other” Pokemon from the Johto region. As always, trainers can acquire eggs by visiting PokeStops and spinning the image that appears, which can provide Pokeballs, potions, revives, and other items in addition to eggs.

In a blog post on Pokemon Go's official site, the developer teased that "these are the first of more Pokémon coming to Pokemon Go over the next few months."

In a statement, The Pokemon Company International's JC Smith teased that "the opportunity to hatch select Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region is just the beginning of how more Pokémon will be added to the game for Trainers to continue their Pokemon Go adventures.”

Mark Wahlberg Drops Out of the Uncharted Movie

Mark Wahlberg has confirmed he's no longer attached to the Uncharted movie.

While doing an interview with We Got This Covered for his upcoming film Patriots Days, Wahlberg said he took himself out of the running to star as Nathan Drake. The actor was rumored to play the treasure hunter for the past five years.

"As of now, no, I'm not attached," Wahlberg told We Got This Covered.

There were questions about whether or not there was still a chance Wahlberg might be involved with the film after Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) was brought in to direct the long-gestating project earlier this year. Wahlberg first talked about potentially being in Uncharted a few years back when David O. Russell was still set to direct.

Marvel’s Joe Quesada Makes Directorial Debut with Slingshot

Marvel legend Joe Quesada will be making his directorial debut behind the camera of the first episode of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD's new digital series, Slingshot, IGN can exclusively reveal. The six-episode series focuses on what happened to SHIELD character Yo-Yo Rodriguez, aka Slingshot, during the break between Season 3 and Season 4.

Watch a behind-the-scenes featurette about Quesada's involvement in the series below:

"Joe Quesada is one of the legendary Shaolin ninja priests of Marvel. We've been friends for a long time, and it's really a treat to get him to be out here and to get to work with him the first time he directs," said Clark Gregg in the above video.

Quesada story-boarded the first episode like he would a comic, he explained, because that's how he is able to visually convey his ideas for shots. "The same rules of storytelling, whether it film or television, apply directly to comic books when you do it right," he said.
