Stranger Things: Major Character Will Return for Season 2
Possible spoilers for Stranger Things season 2, and the season 1 finale, are ahead. Turn back now and take a trip to The Upside Down first if you haven't watched.
Eleven will be back for more Stranger Things, as a new report claims Millie Bobby Brown will reprise her mysterious role in Season 2.
According to TVLine's sources, Brown will indeed be back for the show's next season, though it's unclear as to whether or not she'll appear in all nine episodes of Season 2. While Netflix has yet to officially comment on the report, TVLine says it's likely she'll be back as a series regular.
Invisible Is a First Foray Into Scripted VR Storytelling
Doug Liman, director of Edge of Tomorrow and The Bourne Identity -- not to mention the upcoming Dark Universe (DC’s Justice League Dark movie) and Edge of Tomorrow 2 -- embarked on his first foray into virtual reality with Invisible, an episodic drama that requires a VR headset like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive to view.
Invisible isn’t just a first for Liman, though; it’s one of the first ever (possibly the first) live action, scripted, narrative projects made exclusively for virtual reality.
The short (five to seven minutes) episodes concern the Ashlands, a wealthy and powerful family who possess the power of invisibility, passed down to some members through the luck of genetics. When the Ashland patriarch, the current generation’s grandfather, dies, he grants the young Tatiana, whose chief concern is humanitarian work, control of the lucrative family company. Naturally this pisses off Tatiana’s great uncle Gordon, who’s enacting his own sinister plot to artificially grant himself the family power of invisibility.
Super Mario Run Created With Unity
Nintendo is using Unity to make its upcoming mobile game, Super Mario Run.
The company behind the multiplatform game engine shared the news in a post on Twitter, saying, "We are thrilled that the legendary creators Nintendo America are bringing Mario to mobile for the first time, and it's made with Unity."
In addition to Super Mario Run, another Nintendo-related mobile game (though not Nintendo made) was created using Unity: Pokemon Go.
Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima has high expectations for Super Mario Run, with plans to make the touch-based mobile title as popular as Niantic Labs' aforementioned creature-collecting phenomenon.
How Frank Miller Would Do a Batman Movie
Filmmaker and comics writer Frank Miller, who penned Batman: Year One and The Dark Knight Returns, has opened up about his preferred direction for the Caped Crusader on the big screen.
Speaking with Variety, Miller discussed how he would tackle a Batman movie.
"My dream would be to make it much smaller," he said. "To lose the toys and to focus more on the mission, and to use the city a great deal more.
"Because he’s got a loving relationship with the city he’s protecting," Miller elaborated. "And unlike Superman, his connection to crime is intimate; it has been ever since his parents were murdered. And he defeats criminals with his hands. So it would be a different take. But it will never be in my hands, because it would not be a good place to make toys from."
