16 Times South Park Got Very Topical

South Park is unique among animated series in that the production schedule is so rapid it allows creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone to spoof current events mere days or even hours after the occur. That's led to some incredibly topical episodes over the years, with the show targeting Presidential elections, celebrity scandals and various other hot news items.

That trend has certainly continued this year. South Park's 20th season has been busy poking fun at the latest Presidential race, culminating in this week's episode, "Oh, Jeez," wherein Mr. Garrison found himself beating out Hillary Clinton in a bitterly contested election.

We figured now would be a perfect time to look back at some of the other times South Park has delivered timely, insightful political commentary. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but these are the most memorably topical episodes from the past 20 years. Click through the gallery below!

Lance Henriksen Says Alien 5 Will Be ‘Spectacular’

Alien fans shouldn't lose hope in the prospect of a fifth entry in the venerable sci-fi franchise. Aliens star Lance Henriksen is confident that director Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 will still happen, and that the sequel will be "something spectacular."

That's what Henriksen told us when we broached the subject during an interview about his guest role in DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Henriksen played the heroic android Bishop in 1986's Aliens, and he seemed excited at the prospect of reprising the role, despite the fact that Bishop wasn't exactly in the best of shape by the end of Aliens. "You know they're going to make another one. It picks up right where Aliens ended. I don't know if I'm going to be in a baggie or how I'm going to be in it."
