Resident Evil 7’s VR Mode Could Be PlayStation-Exclusive for a Year
With just a week to go before the launch cellophane is ripped off of PlayStation VR, a Facebook advert suggests that the virtual reality headset has bagged a significant timed exclusive deal.
A post promoting the VR mode of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was spotted by a Reddit user, who noticed a line at the bottom of the Facebook advert that reads "Resident Evil 7 Biohazard coming in 2017 and exclusive to PlayStation VR for 12 months."
The advert clearly marks Resi Evil 7 as a PSVR exclusive.
Sea of Thieves: What the Hell Actually Is This Game?
The most common phrase I’ve heard since Sea of Thieves was announced is: “that looks pretty cool, but what do you actually do?” It’s a fair comment: Rare’s so-called Shared World Adventure Game (or “S.W.A.G.” - heh) so far exists as a bright blue ship combat demo and lots of buzzword-y phrases that sound good, but don’t necessarily mean a whole lot to anyone at this point (see also: “S.W.A.G.”).
That’s where Mike Chapman comes in. The lead designer on the game is just about one of the only people who can actually answer that question and, in a presentation at Gamescom last month, he attempted to do precisely that. While the game is very much in its nascent phases - the team won’t even confirm if it will arrive in 2017 at this point - the design seems very much in place. Drawing from that presentation, and things I quizzed Chapman on subsequently, here’s everything we can answer on some of the most frequently asked questions about the game, all with one goal - to tell you what you’ll actually do in Sea of Thieves.

The Escapists 2 Announced
Team17 and Mouldy Toof Studios have announced The Escapists 2, the sequel to 2015's indie prison break game.
It's coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017, and the big new addition is multiplayer. There will be drop-in/drop-out play both in split screen and online for up to four players, and there will be versus and co-op modes.
Another new addition is that of multi-level prisons, opening up new ways to escape - including being able to tie bed sheets together to form a makeshift rope. New items include a homemade taser, and combat has been completely changed with lock-on targeting, heavy and light attacks, and blocking.
The action still takes place from a top-down perspective, but there's a brand new art style, and there are new character customization options available, including the ability to play as a woman.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – New Photos and Poster
Following its technically Sparrow-less first teaser last night, Disney has now released a poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, alongside some stills from the trailer.

Diablo 3: One of the Best Games I’ve Played in 2016
The bodies of a hundred demons lie strewn in our wake as we push forward. The dungeon we’re exploring has the feel of a temple swallowed whole by the Desolate Sands; its dusty walls weep endless streams of sand. Kormac, my Templar companion, pipes up during a rare moment of silence. “I tried to count how many we killed,” he barks with confidence, “but I’ve lost track.” I chuckle at his almost comedic level of nonchalance; he’s clearly seen all of this before. “By all that is holy!” Kormac shouts, breaking the silence yet again, “do you see that enemy over there?” I spot a towering bulb of flesh lumbering its way towards us, leading a horde of smaller creatures, all thirsty for our blood.
Star Wars VR Vs Star Trek VR
Let’s get disclaimers out of the way, as they’ll undoubtedly make it easier for Trekkies to dismiss what follows as pure Star Wars fanboyism. I am, unashamedly, a huge fan of Star Wars. Love the Original Trilogy. Hate the prequels. Han shot first. Tentatively love The Force Awakens, unless Episode VIII proves that all Disney wants to do is carbon copy the OT. Yeah, that guy.
In terms of Star Trek, I guess you’d say I’m a casual fan. J.J. Abrams' Kelvin Timeline reboot was the first time I saw any Star Trek property from start to finish, and I really like the first movie (plot conveniences notwithstanding) and I dug the sequels. So after recently going hands- and heads-on with Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission, the most convoluted title in gaming history, and Star Trek: Bridge Crew, I was obviously expecting to like the Star Wars experience more.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children Tops Box Office
Despite a mediocre opening weekend, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children placed first at the box office, earning $28.5 million.
As noted by Variety, Tim Burton's new fantasy film is off to a slow start domestically, but is showing promise in international markets, having currently made $36.5 million oversees.
The film still has a ways to go if it's to reach profitability for 20th Century Fox, thanks to a production budget of $110 million.
As of right now, the studio remains unsure as to whether or not Miss Peregrine's will get a sequel. "It’s a promising start, but it’s too early to tell," Fox domestic distribution chief Chris Aronson said, adding, "There are multiple books and they are best-sellers, so the door is open."
Archer Creator Plans to End Series With Season 10
Adam Reed, the writer and executive of Archer, says he plans to wrap up FX's popular animated series with Season 10.
"The plan is to end Archer after Season 10," Reed said on a recent episode of the Modern School of Film’s Murmur podcast (via HitFix), noting that he was initially going to conclude the series with Season 8, but "had sort of a brain explosion of a way that I could do three more seasons and really keep my interest up."
Reed went on to reaffirm that the final three seasons will be a bit shorter, with each spanning just eight episodes. He also said Seasons 8 through 10 will not only be "pretty different" than the previous seven, but also "different from each other."
