Superman Writers Pay Homage to Darwyn Cooke
Today's Superman #8 is a special issue because it's the first chapter in a two-part story done in tribute to the late, great comic creator Darwyn Cooke. The New Frontier is Cooke's most iconic comic work, and so this issue sees Superman, Superboy and Krypto wind up at a signature setting from that story, Dinosaur Island.
We don't want to spoil what happens, as watching events unfold and seeing the signature elements of Cooke's work slowly begin to appear is what makes reading it such a powerful and emotional experience. So once you've gotten a chance to read it, come back and hear what co-writers Pete Tomasi and Patrick Gleason have to say about how they went about crafting a fitting tribute to a comic book legend.
Check Out Disneyland’s Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction
Disney has released a video detailing the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! attraction at the Disney California park.
According to the Disney blog, the attraction will feature characters from the films, and guests will experience a randomized ride experience, so you're never sure what you're going to get when you go in. Walt Disney Imagineering is bringing The Collector's realm to life, and the new attraction looks like a "warehouse, fortress-like power plant."
PlayStation VR’s Launch Games Reviewed
The PlayStation VR may not technically be its own console, but Sony has mustered an impressive lineup of VR exclusives (and a few that just support it) to accompany its launch on October 13. Below you'll find all the games we've reviewed so far, ranked from best to worst, plus what's yet to come. And of course, make sure to check out our in-depth review of the PlayStation VR headset itself.
Superhypercube is simple, but thankfully the comprehensible premise doesn't confuse simplicity with shallowness. As your skill improves and the challenge increases, rotating and dropping the ever-changing three-dimensional shapes gets ever more engaging. When I eventually, inevitably crashed, I was always hammering restart the moment the prompt appeared. That’s the mark of an amazing puzzle game. - Jared Petty
For Honor Drops Split-Screen
Split-screen functionality has been cut from Ubisoft's upcoming medieval brawler, For Honor.
"We decided this week to cut the split-screen," said producer Stephane Cardin in an in-house interview primarily about the game's closed alpha (below, quote begins at 4:24).
"It was a feature that we loved, but, when we looked at what needs to be done to support online co-op, for us it was critical to make a decision now so we can polish all the features at the AAA level and make sure that we have the most amazing experience."
In a 2015 interview with Gamespot, creative director Jason Vandenberghe explained his feelings on the importance of the feature:
Final Fantasy 15 Shows Off Its Version of Moogles
After some uncertainty, and then a strange kind of confirmation, we now know how Final Fantasy XV will include cutesy series stalwarts, the Moogles.
After a 24-hour countdown, Square Enix revealed a picture of a Moogle doll - the form the recurring race will take in the new game.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered Will Be a Combined 130GB Install
Those buying the Legacy edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - the one that also contains Modern Warfare Remastered - will want to start clearing some hard drive space. It looks like combined download size of both games will be 130GB, minimum.
After a French retailer released empty game boxes to pre-orderers, Charlie Intel reports that PS4 editions of the game include the notice:

New Doctor Strange Promo Turns Back Time, Contains Hidden Messages
A brief new TV spot for Doctor Strange released today, which races through Steven Strange’s origin story in reverse (and contains hidden dialogue when replayed backwards), is being met with speculation that the footage is further evidence of the pending debut of a new Infinity Stone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: the Time Stone.
Check out the spot as it originally aired:
And now in reverse:
It’s yet to be confirmed but many fans are convinced that Strange’s amulet – the Eye of Agamotto – is the Time Stone. This new time-bending trailer is certainly lending the theory a great deal of credibility.
