PSN Went Down Worldwide Today
Update: PSN now appears to be back online in all regions, and a connection test in the IGN UK office was successful.
Sony has not yet responded as to why the outage occurred.
Original story: Sony's entire PlayStation Network Service appears to have unexpectedly gone down worldwide.
As pointed out by VG24/7, while scheduled maintenance was completed earlier today, this appears to be a separate issue.
At time of writing, every region listed on the PSN Status website shows all services as "experiencing issues". IGN UK cannot currently access PSN, and users on Reddit and Twitter are reporting problems across the world.
Turtle Rock Studios Ends Support for Evolve
Turtle Rock Studios announced today is the final day it will support Evolve, its competitive, multi-player shooter.
"It’s always hard to leave one of our games behind," Turtle Rock said in a post on its official forums, mentioning the same sense of melancholy permeated the studio as when it ended support of Left4Dead, "but now it's Evolves turn."
In July, Evolve on PC switched to Evolve Stage 2, making the game free-to-play. As a result, the Evolve player count rose to 1 million within a week of the switch.
Deadpool 2: Miller’s Version Would’ve Cost 3x the Original
New details on the recent departure of director Tim Miller from Deadpool 2 have surfaced, with reports claiming that Miller's version would have cost significantly more than what star Ryan Reynolds had in mind for the sequel.
An "individual familiar with the project" told TheWrap that active development on Deadpool 2 was already underway when the first film was in production. During initial talks, Reynolds (along with screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick) wanted to make a "scrappy" and inexpensive followup similar to the first film, which sported a modest $58 million budget.
Uncharted Movie Taps Stranger Things Director Shawn Levy
The off-again, on-again status of the Uncharted movie seems to have landed back in the "on-again," with a new director being brought in.
Producer and director Shawn Levy, whose directing credits include several episodes of Netflix's Stranger Things, as well as Real Steel and all three Night at the Museum films, will lend his directorial chops to the Uncharted movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In September, Sony silently dropped the Uncharted film from its schedule of upcoming releases. In July, writer and director Joe Carnahan was confirmed as the Uncharted movie's writer, and said he'd "love" to direct it but was saddled by scheduling conflicts.
Skyrim, Fallout Developer No Longer Giving Out Early Review Copies
Bethesda Softworks, publisher of Skyrim, Fallout, Doom, and other sizable video game series, has announced that they will no longer be providing advance review copies of their games to any media outlet any earlier than one day prior to release.
The publisher released a blog post on their official site earlier today explaining this decision, stating that "While we will continue to work with media, streamers, and YouTubers to support their coverage – both before and after release – we want everyone, including those in the media, to experience our games at the same time." This statement more or less echos how Bethesda handled the launch of Doom earlier this year.
Overwatch Season 3 Starts Sooner Than Expected
Blizzard has announced that Overwatch's third season of competitive play will begin December 1.
It's a quick turnaround for the team-based shooter, as Season 2 is set to end November 24. Blizzard will also tinker with Overwatch skill ratings and tiers for Season 3, according to principal designer Scott Mercer.
For starters, Overwatch players will most likely begin Season 3 with a lower skill rating. This is in response to too many people starting Season 2 in the Gold and Platinum skill tiers (creating considerable variation), then falling down to Bronze and Silver after the fact.
GameStop Now Accepts Retro Game Trade-Ins Everywhere

According to the company's twitter, the games retailer will take classic consoles like the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super NES, and Sega Genesis all the way up through the PlayStation, Xbox, and Gamecube.
