New Pikmin Game Announced for 3DS
Pikmin will be heading to handhelds for the first time, with a new Pikmin game for 3DS announced during today’s Nintendo Direct.
Pikmin, the title for which is currently not final, will release sometime in 2017 and be a sidescrolling adventure, as opposed to an open 3D world, with a focus on action.
Players will tap the screen to aim where they want to throw Pikmin, and as seen in the footage, the game world will extend to appear on both 3DS screens.
The initial footage reveals that the original three Pikmin types — red, blue, and yellow — will be included on Olimar’s latest adventure.
The last Pikmin game, Pikmin 3, came to the Wii U in 2013, following the release of the first two Pikmin on the Gamecube. For more, check out the review for Pikmin 3.
