Alan Moore Announces Retirement From Comics

Alan Moore revealed that he'll soon be bringing his comic book career to an end. The writer of seminal works like Watchmen, V for Vendetta and Promethea made the announcement at a press conference in London while promoting his upcoming novel, Jerusalem.

According to The Guardian, Moore said, "I think I have done enough for comics. I’ve done all that I can. I think if I were to continue to work in comics, inevitably the ideas would suffer, inevitably you’d start to see me retread old ground and I think both you and I probably deserve something better than that."

Opinion: DC’s Cyborg Needs an Upgrade

Few DC heroes were more radically altered by the New 52 relaunch than Cyborg. That has less to do with the alterations to his origin story and powers than the fact that Vic Stone was elevated from Teen Titan to founding member of the Justice League. It was a big promotion for a fan-favorite character. But even with the debut of his latest solo comic, DC has yet to prove that Cyborg is actually better off because of that promotion.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Cyborg Rebirth #1!

DC had several motivations for elevating Cyborg to A-List status, but above all Cyborg's promotion was an attempt to address the fact that there's not a lot of diversity in the Justice League's "Big Seven" lineup. Five white, American men, an Amazon and a Martian do not a diverse super-team make. But why specifically add Cyborg to the mix? Why choose Vic Stone rather than, say, John Stewart or Black Lightning or Vixen? All three of those characters have a strong connection to the Justice League that Cyborg lacked at the time. Given how much mainstream exposure and popularity John Stewart earned from his starring role in the Justice League cartoon, you could argue that DC should have made him a founding member anyway.

Star Wars Rebels: See Ezra Get Dangerous

A ton happened in Star Wars Rebels' epic Season 2 finale, as Darth Vader and Ahsoka finally fought, two Inquisitors met their demise, Darth Maul made his return, and Kanan was blinded. But the very last shot of the episode was also quite notable -- and worrisome -- as the young Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger succeeded in opening a Sith holocron, having previously been urged on by his would-be master, Maul.

Is Ezra headed down the path towards the Dark Side? IGN has an exclusive clip for you from the Season 3 premiere and things certainly aren't looking happy-go-lucky for Kanan's apprentice. See what happen when Ezra, Sabine, Zeb and the pirate Hondo encounter some Imperials and Ezra decides to use the Force in a big way.

A to Z of Hearthstone

The alphabet of Hearthstone is a fascinating one, filled with mysterious minions, theorycrafting, and pretty pretty pictures of cards. Card game terminology like tempo, value, card advantage and lethal are left off the list in favor of specific examples of those ideas. If you want more detailed info on deck types, strategies, and more, check out our beginner's guide to Hearthstone.

Though some cards in this A to Z were chosen with the intent of exploring a certain theme, the majority of this list demonstrates the most impactful or noteworthy concept that corresponds with each letter.
