Sonic Mania Collector’s Edition Not Coming to Europe
The Sonic Mania Collector’s Edition that set the Internet ablaze yesterday won’t be coming to Europe.
The confirmation comes via Eurogamer. Here’s the statement in full:
"The collector's edition for Sonic Mania has been announced; to confirm this edition is only available in North America. There is no information regarding a pre-order incentive for Europe at this time."
The $70 Collector’s Edition comes with a 12-inch old-school Sonic statue perched on top of an original Mega-drive/Genesis (which plays the shouting ‘SEGA!!!!!!!!!!’ start-up sound), as well as a cartridge-style case with a gold ring inside. Not that we wanted any of that anyway. *Stomps foot*
Talking Movie Brats with Taika Waititi
Taika Waititi is currently busy filming Thor: Ragnarok, but even though the New Zealander is only half-way through that shoot, he managed to spare 15 minutes to talk to IGN about his brilliant new feature Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
The film's story revolves around Ricky – a rebellious kid who triggers a huge man-hunt when he goes missing with his uncle in the bush – and as played by Julian Dennison he’s the kind of movie brat you can’t help but love. So we asked Taika about movie brats in general, quizzed him on some of our favourites, and then got an update on his proposed What We Do in the Shadows sequel We're Wolves.

League of Legends Surpasses 100 Million Monthly Active Players
League of Legends is showing no signs of slowing down, as Riot Games estimates it has over 100 million players actively playing each month. That's over 1% of people on the planet Earth.
This figure comes from Polygon's interview with Riot Games co-founders Marc Merrill and Brandon Beck.
If you thought the lack of player number announcements over the last couple of years has been a sign of decline, think again. Since the last count in 2014, the number has grown over 30 million from 67 million.
In June, Valve released figures for LoL competitor Dota 2, saying it had 13 million unique players during the previous month.

Move Over, Harry Potter, the Fantastic Beasts Team is Here!
When someone says “the Harry Potter trio,” we all know exactly what characters are being referred to. But now, it’s time to meet the Fantastic Beasts quartet, as Harry, Ron and Hermione make way for Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), Queenie Goldstein (Alison Sudol) and Jacob Kowalski, (Dan Fogler), the central heroes of the new film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Speaking about Fantastic Beasts on the set late last year, the main cast all expressed how thrilled they were to be a part of the Wizarding World created by J.K. Rowling (who wrote the screenplay for the new film), while also getting to create their own original characters and scenarios, telling a tale set in New York in 1926.
