Metro: Redux Developer Teasing New Game
Developer 4A Games, the studio behind Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, is starting to hint at the team's next project.
On Facebook and Twitter, 4A Games has posted two different close-up pictures (seen below) of a hand from the game. While it's had to glean too much from the photos, they appear to tease a sci-fi shooter.
Now this isn't the first time 4A Games has talked about the studio's next project. Back in 2014, 4A Games' chief technical officer Oles Shishkovstov said the team's next game wouldn't be as linear as the Metro titles.

Sega Once Considered a Yakuza Game Set Outside Japan
Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi has told IGN Japan that he once considered setting an installment of the hit franchise in a city outside of Japan.
“We have considered it, because there was a feeling that we’d like the Yakuza series to be better known overseas,” he said, explaining that taking the story out of Japan might help players in other cultures connect with it better.
Nagoshi continued: “But the idea disappeared right away. The series was originally intended to target Japanese players, and so setting it overseas would conflict with that original concept, and the popularity of the series within Japan might decline as a result. Also, in terms of marketing, there was concern about the global appeal of a Japanese main character anyway. So it seemed to be tricky.”
Nioh Might Be the Best Dark Souls Clone, and That’s Okay
Director Fumihiko Yasuda isn’t afraid to acknowledge comparisons of his new action RPG, called Nioh, to developer From Software’s beloved Dark Souls series. During a presentation at Tokyo Game Show, Yasuda was asked how he feels about the similarities between the two and what makes his game different. “I can’t say that we don’t know about Dark Souls,” he admitted, “That would be a massive lie. We’ve had some influences from them.”
“I would say the biggest difference is that we have a samurai as the main character,” Yasuda continued. “We have many members of the Ninja Gaiden production team working with us and bringing in their expertise, and this is shown in the different fighting stances and the use of diverse Japanese weaponry. I think these brings an element of originality to Nioh.”
Top 10 Bad Endings in Good Games
The games on this list have their fair share of redeeming qualities, but a cohesive, satisfying conclusion isn't one of them. Bad endings can fizzle out prematurely, or take a disastrous turn away from the gameplay or narrative tropes established in the preceding chapters. Both of these unwanted scenarios and more can be found on this list, these are the Top Ten bad endings in good games.
Far Cry 3 boasts a wonderfully crafted open world, meaningful progression, and fantastic gunplay. But its ending reaffirmed our suspicions that the whole narrative wasn’t anything special to begin with. The ever-present goal of saving your friends stranded in a vacation gone wrong comes to a head when you're presented with an option to free them, or embrace your own insanity and kill them. A pretty heavy choice for a game that, at best, had us minimally invested in its plot and characters. Throw in a first-person sex scene ending in a fatal stabbing and the whole thing feels like a cheap attempt to shock audiences with a risque twist. - James Duggan
Romance in VR Is as Weird as You Think It Is
While action and adventure games in VR have to overcome motion sickness and limited movement for immersion, romantic VR games have the challenge of not making the player feel awkward. At Tokyo Game Show 2016, a virtual man pinned me to a chair, I sat in an elegant bath with an anime girl version of Augustus, and did many more weird things.
Dating sims like Hatoful Boyfriend or games with dating elements like the Mass Effect or Persona series give you choices in your romance, but the relationship doesn’t actually star you; it stars the character you play as in the scenario. However, in VR, you are the star, and this is happening to you, albeit virtually. The more intimate VR games definitely take some time to get used to.
Remedy Announces It Will Now Make Multiplayer Games
Remedy Games—the studio behind Max Payne and Alan Wake—is expanding into cooperative multiplayer gaming.
Two games are currently being worked on at Remedy; one is Crossfire 2's story mode in collaboration with Smilegate and the other is currently unannounced. Remedy did not outline exactly where multiplayer fits into these projects.
This process includes working on Northlight, Remedy's "proprietary game engine and tools." Remedy will be building Northlight as a way to expand the studio's storytelling abilities across shared experiences. "We believe that a multiplayer experience combined with Remedy's unique world-building provides an exceptional environment for that," game director Mikael Kasurinen and creative director Sam Lake said.
