The Magicians Goes Uncensored With Season 1 Re-Release
Missed The Magicians the first time around, or just wish that it hasn't bleeped out all its F-bombs? Well Syfy has some exciting news for you, because the network is offering all 13 episodes of Season 1 uncensored with limited commercials.
Starting September 19th and continuing through mid-December, The Magicians: Season 1 will be curse-word filled and available in its entirety on Syfy.com, the Syfy Now app and on demand. The series premiered earlier in 2016 and ended up being one of my favorite new shows of the year (if you're intrigued and OK with spoilers, check out my review of Season 1).
YouTuber Appears in Court Charged With Promoting Gambling
A FIFA YouTuber has appeared in court charged with promoting gambling via his Youtube channel.
According to BBC News, Craig "Nepenthez" Douglas - who has 1.3 million subscribers - was criticised for promoting gambling with FIFA Ultimate Team coins. He appeared in court in Birmingham, UK, on Friday 16 September alongside business partner Dylan Rigby, charged with advertising unlawful gambling, inviting children to gamble, and promoting a lottery.
It is believed this is the first prosecution involving betting on video games under the Gambling Act in the UK.
The report claims Douglas and Rigby - who are both directors of Game Gold Tradings Limited - owned numerous gambling websites, including FUT Galaxy, TheFUTShop.com, and MUTCoinTraider.
Game of Thrones Has Won More Emmys Than Any Primetime Show in History
After the 68th Primetime Emmys, Game of Thrones has now broken the award show's record for the most lifetime wins for a scripted program.
With three awards last night (and nine at last week's Creative Emmys), the HBO book adaptation has now bagged 28 awards - beating Frasier's 37. Frasier had 11 series to get those in, too - Game of Thrones has had a mere six.
Thrones had already broken the record for the most-awarded drama of all time last week after its Creative Emmys haul.
One record still stands in the show's way, however - the unscripted, non-primetime Saturday Night Live has garnered 45 Emmys over its 41-year lifespan.
Getting to Wave 50 in Gears of War 4’s Horde Mode Is Brutal
I was one of the first people in the entire world to finish Gears of War 4’s horde mode. It took around 4 hours, countless downed comrades, too many emptied ammunition clips to count, and an hour of teetering frustratingly close to failure. Waves 30-40 were so brutal for us that we nearly gave up, despite knowing exactly where we went wrong.
The first few waves were a breeze. We set up our ‘Fabricator’, the box that serves as a menu to let you set up fortifications for whichever section of a map you decide is most defensible, right near our spawn point, and started farming the energy enemies dropped in preparation for the first boss wave - wave 10. We put our slowly-building resources towards barriers to begin with, but everything was placed with the boss wave in mind, rather than just the ‘next wave’.

Project Scorpio Will Run Microsoft-Made Games at Native 4K
Microsoft's Xbox upgrade, currently code named Project Scorpio, will run all games made for it by Microsoft Studios at a native 4K resolution.
In an interview with USA Today, Microsoft Studios' publishing general manager Shannon Loftis said, "any games we're making that we're launching in the Scorpio time frame, we're making sure they can natively render at 4K."
Loftis is referring only to games released by Microsoft Studios - it's unclear what third-party developers' decisions will be.
Scorpio's primary rival, the PlayStation 4 Pro, may not follow suit. In an interview with Digital Spy, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Andrew House said that "the majority

Daredevil’s Creator on Directing The Good Place
Drew Goddard’s ever-growing resume includes his time writing for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alias and Lost and his feature film work, including Cloverfield and his Academy Award-nominated work on The Martian. He also created Marvel’s Daredevil for Netflix and wrote that show’s first two episodes and is serving as an executive producer on Marvel’s The Defenders series coming to Netflix. In addition, he also made his directorial debut on Cabin the Woods, which he co-wrote with Joss Whedon.
Given that busy schedule, it was a bit of a surprise when Goddard signed on to direct the pilot for The Good Place, the new NBC comedy from Parks and Recreation’s Mike Schur, starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. Debuting Monday night, The Good Place marks Goddard’s second job as a director and his first for TV - and he also notably is not involved as a writer this time, as Schur wrote the script.
Why the First Yakuza Game Was Such a Gamble
Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi admitted that even though it is one of Sega’s top-selling franchises in Japan, the series has faced a decade of constant uncertainty, beginning with the very first game.
“We had no idea whether the first game would be a hit. And then when we were making the second one, it was right at the end of the PS2 cycle and we weren't sure yet whether PS3 would be a success,” Nagoshi told IGN Japan. “We are always glad that the games sell well each time, and that motivates the team, but throughout these 10 years or so, we have always felt some anxiety over whether there will be a next game. We have faced constant uncertainty.”
