Twitter: Photos, Videos No Longer Part of Character Limit

Effective today, Twitter users can add media to their Tweets without it counting toward their character limit.

The official Twitter account shared the news in a post on its popular social media service, announcing that the change is "rolling out now," whereby "photos, videos, GIFs, polls, and Quote Tweets no longer count toward your 140 characters."

The change comes after Twitter announced plans earlier this year to one day allow users to "express even more" in a single Tweet. Prior reports suggested the company would also consider raising the character limits for Tweets, though Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey later confirmed the platform would stick with its current 140 character limit.

Jennifer Walters Stars in Marvel’s New Hulk Comic

Warning: this article contains spoilers for recent issues of Civil War II!

She-Hulk will soon be starring in her own comic again. Today Marvel revealed (via The AV Club) that writer Mariko Tamaki (This One Summer) and artist Nico Leon (Spider-Man) will helm a new She-Hulk series beginning in December. However, the twist is that the book will simply be titled "Hulk."

The new series will build directly out of the events of Civil War II, which has already seen She-Hulk become gravely injured in a battle against Thanos and awaken from a coma to learn that her cousin, Bruce Banner, was shot dead by Hawkeye. Those tragedies will feed into Jen's more angry, unstable outlook on life. “The title She-Hulk evokes light-hearted stories about a Jennifer Walters who is at peace with herself and in full control of her powers,” said Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso. “This isn’t that book."

VR Vacations Let You Try Before You Fly

If virtual reality is about transporting us from the comfort of our living rooms to new and interesting locations, then it seems travel is cut out for the medium.

At the touch of a button, it’s now possible to visit even the most far-flung corners of the globe. And while the process of booking vacations was once restricted to conversations with travel agents, or hours spent surfing the web, customers can now try before they fly simply by donning a VR headset.

With all the planning and risk involved, purchasing a vacation can sometimes be a hit-or-miss experience. That wonderful seaside resort might look lovely in the brochure, but how do you know it’ll look the same when you get there? Ultimately, you don’t, which is why travel companies are now turning to VR to offer customers a sneak peak ahead of time.

New Spawn Movie Coming, Says Todd McFarlane

Image Comics co-founder Todd McFarlane recently spoke to the possibility of a new Spawn movie moving forward, confirming that a reboot film is indeed on the way.

In an upcoming episode of Geeking Out (courtesy of ComicBook.com), McFarlane was asked whether or not Spawn fans can expect a new film sometime in the future, to which he replied by saying, "the simple answer is yes."

McFarlane then went on to note that the film won't serve as a direct follow-up to the 1997 movie. Instead it will offer a fresh take on the franchise that has "a dark, R-rated, scary, badass sort of script."

Alien: Isolation VR Teased by Sega

Jurgen Post, Sega's European boss, has teased that a virtual reality version of Alien: Isolation is a possibility.

“VR has caught the whole company’s attention,” said Post in an interview with MCV about the studio's future plans. "We have a lot of VR kits in the office and people are playing with it. We are exploring ways to release games. We’ve not announced anything, but we are very close to making an announcement."

"We did Alien: Isolation about three years ago on Oculus Rift, it was a demo that was bloody scary," said Post. "To bring that back to VR would be a dream and dreams can come true... VR will take time, but we will start releasing some titles just to learn. It is a platform for the future."
