The CW Launching App to Watch Their Shows for Free

Next week, The CW is releasing a new app that provides users with the ability to stream an assortment of episodes from its library of shows free of charge.

According to The CW's announcement, the app will be available on a variety of streaming devices — including Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV, Xbox and Amazon Fire TV — and will function much like Hulu, making five episodes from each show available at any given time. The five most recent episodes will be available when a show is currently airing new episodes, with the full season arriving on Netflix shortly after it has finished its run on television.

The launch of this app comes shortly after Hulu's removal of a free streaming option, as well as a new deal between The CW and Netflix, which ended the network's partnership with Hulu.

Darksiders Games for Only $16

Darksiders is such a fun series (it's like God of War meets Zelda), so I'm super glad that both games in the series have gotten the remaster treatment. Darksiders 2 is already out (and it's also $16, no Prime required), and the original releases October 25th, and you can get it for only $16 if you have Amazon Prime.

Lethal Weapon Reboot Star Initially Passed on Playing Riggs

On Wednesday, September 21st, FOX lets loose its Lethal Weapon series, starring Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans as the iconic film franchise duo of Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh - roles previously made famous by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.

While most viewers are already familiar with Wayans' work over the years, many may not have heard of Crawford. But fans of Sundance TV's Rectify know that Crawford, who superbly plays Teddy Talbot, Jr. on that series, know that he's got serious acting chops.

And that's a good thing because Lethal Weapon's success may just hinge on Crawford's ability to breathe new life into Riggs, which is no small feat considering how memorable Mel Gibson was in the part. Fortunately, Crawford shines as the playfully suicidal cop (you can read my review of the pilot episode here), but as the actor explained to me, he almost didn't accept the role.

Rez Infinite Dazzles the Senses on PlayStation VR

Just mere minutes into a PlayStation VR demo of Rez Infinite’s new stage, called Area X, and we’re spellbound. The new area coming to PlayStation this October as part of a remastered Rez experience is a masterclass of evocative trance music, beautifully timed transitions, and gorgeous particle effects. It’s not particularly challenging, but Rez has never had to be.

You can play without VR, but Sony’s headset gives Rez a level of immersion it has never had before and it’s hard to go back to the plain old TV once you’ve experienced it.

Up until this demo, Rez was best described as an on-rails shooter where trance music, cyberpunk, and video games came together to form a breathtaking digital experience. While most of that is still true, Area X rewrites the 15 year-old playbook. The result is an experience that trades in pre-set paths and sharp vector graphics for wide open freedom and explosive effects.

Sniper Elite 4 Teases Hitler Bonus Mission

The first gameplay trailer for Sniper Elite 4 has dropped, which includes a sneak peak at an extra campaign mission called "Target Führer."

It's tradition for the Sniper Elite games to include Hitler-assassination in some form, and once more players should ready themselves for a rousing chorus of "ding dong, dictator's dead."

This time the mission takes place in the Mediterranean on a secret Nazi U-boat. Karl Fairburne's original target - the Commander of the base - has been killed by another unknown assassin, so your objective has changed. Now you must kill Hitler himself, destroying the enemy U-boat in the process.

As always, the campaign mission is replayable and there are multiple ways to take the despot down. Other details are scarce at the moment, but we do know that the bonus content can be played by one or two people.
