FX Renews Atlanta and Better Things for Season 2
FX has renewed both Donald Glover's Atlanta, and Pamela Adlon's Better Things for second seasons.
Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, presidents of original programming at FX Networks and FX Productions, announced the network has ordered 10 new episodes for each of the series.
"It is clear to us that Atlanta and Better Things have struck a nerve with viewers, which is a credit to Donald Glover’s vision for Atlanta and Pamela Adlon’s vision for Better Things," said Grad and Schrier. "They, along with their spectacular casts, writers and directors, have created exceptional shows that we are incredibly proud to produce."
Atlanta, a comedy focusing on two cousins working through the Atlanta music scene, had the most-watched basic cable primetime scripted comedy premiere in over three years in the 18-49 demographic. Its viewer numbers have been increasing between episodes, and it then went on to become the most watched telecast of a new comedy series in 18-49 since April 2014.

Paladins Developer Responds to Overwatch Comparisons
The developer behind Smite, Hi-Rez Studios, has addressed the allegations that its hero shooter Paladins: Champions of the Realm, which recently went into open beta, is copying aspects of Blizzard’s Overwatch.
In a statement exclusively provided to IGN, Hi-Rez’s COO Todd Harris asserted that Overwatch “was not the inspiration for Paladins” and that characters in the game who appear to mimic Overwatch heroes “were available and playable in the Paladins beta long before similar character abilities were shown in Overwatch."
Read Harris’ full statement below:
While Overwatch is a fine game, it was not the inspiration for Paladins. Game development is an interactive process with ideas coming from many past projects. For the hero shooter genre, the game that deserves the most credit is Team Fortress 2. We released a TF2 inspired class-based shooter called Global Agenda way back in 2010. Paladins was conceived as a fantasy version of Global Agenda and of the approximately 85 combat abilities currently in Paladins, the vast majority are from the game Global Agenda we made 10 years ago.
