Star Wars: New Details on Rogue One’s Holy Land Jedha

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards has shared a few new details about Jedha, the holy planet that will be featured in his upcoming film.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Edwards said Jedha will serve as a place that addresses "the themes of losing your faith" as the Rebels struggle under the oppressive rule of the Empire and evil that threatens the galaxy.

While the director noted this Middle Eastern-inspired holy land is occupied by the Empire he refrained from spoiling how this place of pilgrimage fell under its evil rule. That said, Edwards did go on to say that Jedha contains something of great importance to both the Empire and the Jedi, which EW suspects may be kyber crystals, the minerals that are used to power lightsabers and potentially the key resource the Empire needs for the Death Star's laser.

Hulu Eliminates Free Streaming Service

Hulu is moving to an all-subscription model, as the popular streaming service plans to phase out its ad-based free option over the course of the next few weeks.

According to Variety, the company is also expanding its distribution deal with Yahoo to provide a new ad-supported service called Yahoo View that includes the five latest episodes from major television networks, including NBC, FOX and ABC, which will be made available eight days after airing on TV. A selection of anime and Korean drama series will be available via the new service as well.

Hulu exec Ben Smith spoke to the company's decision to end its free streaming service, saying in a statement, "As we have continued to enhance that offering with new originals, exclusive acquisitions, and movies, the free service became very limited and no longer aligned with the Hulu experience or content strategy."

Jessica Jones Showrunner Previews Season 2 Plans

A second season of Jessica Jones is on the way, but first fans will be catching up on the ace investigator in Marvel's The Defenders. Lucky for viewers, Jessica Jones showrunner Melissa Rosenberg and The Defenders executive producer Doug Petrie promise there won't be vastly different depictions of the character between the two shows.

Rosenberg is currently hard at work writing Jessica Jones: Season 2, but whenever she has a question about what's happening in The Defenders she can just walk across the hall to the offices of Petrie and Marco Ramirez, the Daredevil: Season 2 showrunners who are also helming The Defenders. At a Marvel TV press mixer at the 2016 summer TV Critics' Association press tour, Rosenberg and Petrie told IGN about their positive experiences working on the same characters.
