Proof David Brent Was Framed By The Office

“Stitch up. It was a stitch up.”

That’s how David Brent regards the BBC’s documentary series The Office, which brought him mild fame and professional ruin.

Brent’s accusation comes at the beginning of the Christmas Special. He’s positive that he was misrepresented by the final edit: “They filmed hours of material, and most of it is a good bloke doing a good job at work”.

The 6 Biggest Changes In WWE 2K17

On Friday WWE 2K17’s Executive Producer, Mark Little, put out a blogpost detailing the biggest additions and changes for this year’s big wrasslin’ game. But the day before that, I was in his office beating the crap out of him, for fun, because I’m a big meanie. Actually it’s because we were playing WWE 2K17, and he was running me through what’s different and what that means for the dedicated masses who sign back up for another round in the squared circle.

There was a whole lot in that blog post, but my hands-on was limited mostly to a handful of match-types. It was all I needed though; the key gameplay-related changes not only make for a better overall experience, they fix new and old problems in smart ways.

Dawn of War 3’s Battles Are Big And Brutal

I expected to lament all of the ways that Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 3 wasn’t Dawn of War 2 when I sat down to play it, but thankfully, that wasn’t the case. Sure, the zoomed out camera and lower per-model detail makes it a bit less immersive than its prequel, but what it lacks in terms of presentation, it makes up in scale and depth of gameplay.

Dawn of War 3’s battles are big; even a mid-sized skirmish is larger and more layered than the biggest fights you’d see in Dawn of War 2. The larger population cap means more units on screen, and a wider variety of units participating in any given battle. As a result, max-population engagements look and feel a lot more epic than Dawn of War 2’s late-game dances.

Shane Black Thinks Monster Squad 2 “Could be Fun”

When writer-director Shane Black recently visited the IGN office, we quizzed him about The Monster Squad – the 1987 horror-comedy about a bunch of kids doing battle with Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolf-Man – and tried to talk him into making a sequel.

The original wasn’t a theatrical hit, but found an audience on video, with a cult following building up over the last 30 years years. One that Black initially wasn't aware of.

“The cult surprised

” he explained. “I didn't even realise it had been successful. I loved it, I had fun working on it and it was one of the first things I'd ever written. And it wasn't just that it wasn't a hit - it was a huge failure. No one saw it. I don't know how on earth it caught on years later.”

Like BvS, Suicide Squad Still No. 1 Despite Giant Drop

Suicide Squad remained the top movie at the North American box office this weekend with an estimated $43.8 million despite a massive 67% second weekend drop.

That's just two points lower than the 69% second weekend drop suffered by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (as well as X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

While Suicide Squad's $222.9 million in domestic grosses after just a week in release is certainly nothing to sneeze at, the film's precipitous second weekend drop further fuels concerns Warner Bros.' DC films are failing to connect with mainstream audiences in a way that guarantees the sort of massive box office returns and widespread appetite for a shared universe their competitor Disney/Marvel enjoys.
