EA Changes Battlefield 4 UI in Preparation for Battlefield 1
A new user interface is now in place on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Battlefield 4.
EA says the new interface will "provide a more intuitive and centralized experience for Battlefield games." It will be a unified UI across all games, and will be also coming to Battlefield 1 when it launches on October 21.
It looks completely different, and there are functional changes too. EA says the process of spawning on your friends will be "much smoother."
There's also a new recommendation engine which suggests maps, modes, and more. Battlelog is now a thing of the past.
Free-to-Play Halo Online Shuts Down
Microsoft has closed down free-to-play Halo Online just a year after launch.
The experimental PC-only game launched as an alpha test in Russia last year. Although the servers were initially taken down last December, it was thought the cessation was temporary.
According to Russian social media site VK (via Gamasutra), the developers point to Microsoft as the reason why the project has shut down, with developer Fogeyman stating Microsoft colleagues had "failed to take decisions on the future of the project", which consequently brought about the game's demise.

How Dark Souls and Silent Hill Influenced Stranger Things
If you watched and loved Stranger Things, you probably spotted some of the 1980s movie homages peppered throughout – many of which we listed here. But what of the games that influenced the Netflix smash?
We recently spoke to the show’s creators Matt and Ross Duffer, and as well as quizzing them about what might happen in Season 2, we also asked what video games influenced Season 1.
“Silent Hill is the one most people have picked up on,” came the response from Ross. “Because that's the least subtle one with the look of the Upside Down and with all the fog and the forest dripping. Obviously we were really looking at that game for visualising this other world, so that's a big one.”

The Flash Movie Villains Rumored to be The Rogues
A new rumor suggests The Flash will be up against The Rogues in his DC standalone movie.
Heroic Hollywood claims that Barry Allen will face the loosely associated criminal group which includes Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Heat Wave, Weather Wizard, the Trickster, Pied Piper, the Top, and Captain Boomerang. Members of The Rogues have already appeared on The Flash TV series - Grey Damon was recently cast as Mirror Master for its third season.
The Flash will be directed by Rick Famuyiwa and stars Ezra Miller as the speedster. In July, it was reported that Kiersey Clemons would join the cast as Iris West. Production is expected to begin this year, off a script written by The Flash's original director Seth Grahame-Smith, who left the project over "creative differences". It's set to hit theaters March 16, 2018.
