Guardians 2: Casting Kurt Russell Was Chris Pratt’s Idea

Spoilers ahead for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The decision to cast Kurt Russell as Star-Lord's father in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was actually the idea of Chris Pratt, director James Gunn has revealed.

In an interview with Empire, Gunn said, Russell "was actually not in my head initially." Instead, it was the Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) actor who suggested he bring Russell on board to play Ego the Living Planet.

Resident Evil 7 Details Outed by Ratings Board

New details about Resident Evil 7 have surfaced, thanks to a premature listing by the ESRB.

The listing has since been removed, but not before Gematsu pulled the full description, which details the game's main character, Ethan, who's described as "a man searching for his missing wife in a derelict mansion."

The ESRB's summary also reaffirms that Resident Evil 7 will be played in first-person, through which players will "explore the environment and use pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives and chainsaws to kill mutant creatures."

New to Netflix in September

Netflix has a loaded September for us, with the debut of new original series like Marvel's Luke Cage and new seasons of Narcos and Longmire. Plus, notable movies like Saving Private Ryan, Top Gun, Zootopia, Babel, and all four Jaws movies are coming to the streaming service.

TV, however, seems to be the name of the game, with recent seasons of The Walking Dead, Penny Dreadful, Luther, The Blacklist, Galavant, Supergirl, Family Guy, New Girl, and more all landing on the site for your binging purposes.

What’s Leaving Netflix in September

Doctor Strange: Additional Villain Possibly Revealed

After being brought on board to write a few last-minute scenes for Doctor Strange, Community writer Dan Harmon may have accidentally revealed the film's surprise villain.

Warning: Possible Doctor Strange spoilers below.

On a recent episode of the Harmontown podcast, Harmon pulled up a list of files on his computer while discussing a possible Community film he's been working on, and Reddit user Bifrost5 (via Heroic Hollywood) spotted on the screen a document titled "Strange Confronts Dormammu."

In anticipation for its release next year, Beauty and the Beast co-producer Jack Morrissey has pulled back the curtain on a new piece of concept art for Disney's upcoming live-action movie.

Morrissey shared the image on Facebook, which features Lumière (voiced by Ewan McGregor) and Cogsworth (voiced by Ian McKellen).

Bond Director in Talks for James and the Giant Peach Movie

Disney's live-action adaptation of James and the Giant Peach may have found its director in Sam Mendes.

According to Deadline, the director — who helmed the two most recent James Bond films Skyfall and Spectre — is currently in the "very early stages" of negotiations to both develop and direct the project, a screenplay for which is being penned by Brooklyn writer Nick Hornby.

Disney has been incredibly active these past few years in adapting classic stories for live-action. Earlier this year, the studio released Jon Favreau's live-action take on The Jungle Book, which was praised by critics and already has a sequel in the works.

A new Metal Gear game was announced at GamesCom this year, and it has had a lot of negative fan reactions, but Metal Gear fans will probably always appreciate Snake's games in the series, including some seriously talented cosplayers.

Netherlands-based cosplayer and costume creator Rick Boer is one such fan, who has made and worn seriously awesome costumes inspired by Big Boss and Solid Snake - click right to see them all:
