Marvel and Fox Co-Own Screen Rights to the Skrulls
The film rights to the Skrulls, Marvel Comics' green-skinned shapeshifters, are co-owned by Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox, according to Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.
Gunn revealed the news on Twitter, saying while a number of "specific Skrulls are at Fox... the Skrulls as a whole are co-owned."
The Skrulls
The Skrulls first appeared in 1962's Fantastic Four #2. The humanoid alien race went on to become the focus of Marvel's Secret Invasion, an eight-issue crossover event in 2008.
Women Players Coming to Don Bradman Cricket
Don Bradman Cricket 17 will feature women when it's released in December 2017, developer Big Ant Studios announced today.
This is the first time ever that women players and teams will be playable in Don Bradman Cricket. The game—which is known for its character creation options—will give those interested in creating playable women the same level of customization as it does for men.
"In cricket, the growth of the women's game worldwide has been exciting to watch," Big Ant Studios CEO Ross Symon said in a statement. "We wanted to do something genuine to bring gender balance to our take on the game, and we're immensely proud to be the first developer in the world to feature women in a cricket game with Don Bradman Cricket 17."
Does Spider-Man Remember Secret Wars?
The newest issue of Amazing Spider-Man included some key new developments in the life of Peter Parker.
Warning: this article contains spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man #15!
During the final battle between Spider-Man and the power-thieving villain known as Regent (which also saw Mary Jane don her ex-boyfriend's Iron Spider costume to lend a hand), all three characters had a crucial flashback to the events of Secret Wars. Even though few Marvel characters still remember the events of Secret Wars, it seems that Spidey, MJ and regent all retain some memory of life on Battleworld.
Cranston Likens Power Rangers to Nolan’s Batman
Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston wasn't entirely sure he wanted to get involved in the Power Rangers reboot until he read the script.
The actor—who previously worked as a voice actor on the Power Rangers television show before he hit it big—remembered the show as being "farcical and silly," with "weird movements and things like that." He wasn't convinced he wanted to play Zordon until he spoke with the movie's director.
"After that I went, 'This is different.' This is as different a re-imagining as the Batman television series as it became the Batman movie series," Cranston told The Huffington Post. He also clarified that he was referring to the Nolan films. "You can't compare those two, and nor can you compare this movie version of the Power Rangers to that television series."
Alien: Covenant to Feature More Practical Effects
As filming for Alien: Covenant is now underway, Danny McBride has come forward to shed light on his role and praise the movie's "incredible" sets.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, McBride revealed that he stars as the pilot of a colonization ship called the Covenant, "searching for a planet where we might start life anew."
When asked about his experience on set, the actor said he isn't in front of a green screen all day, as "most of the stuff is practical effects," adding that "when you're running from an alien it's really a dude in an alien suit coming after you."

All signs pointed to the crafty Negan forming an alliance with Alpha and her army of zombie skin-wearing minions, thereby creating the biggest threat to peace since the events of "All Out War." But just as Alpha finally seemed to warm up to Negan and let her guard down, Negan seized the opportunity to eliminate his new rival.

Game of Thrones: Season 7 Production Delayed
The wait for the return of Game of Thrones just got a bit longer, as Season 7 production — and likely its release — have been delayed for weather-related reasons.
Series creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss told UFC Unfiltered (via HitFix) that production on the next season is "starting a bit later" in favor of filming "some grim, grey weather," even in some of the show's sunnier locations, since winter has come as Season 7 kicks off. "So we kind of pushed everything down the line," the executive producers said, noting that production, and likely the season 7 premiere as well, have all been pushed back.
Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll: How Gigi’s Showing a Softer Side
In the next episode of FX's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, airing this Thursday, Elizabeth Gillies' Gigi decides it's time to branch out and experience more of life in the form of trial and error lesbian hook up, designed to satisfy her own curiosity while also perhaps creating some buzz around her up and coming career.
I recently had the chance to talk to Gillies about the return of the rock and roll comedy, Gigi's pairing with sultry singer Davvy (Rebecca Naomi Jones), her new dynamic with Johnny (Denis Leary) and Ava (Elaine Hendrix), her relationship with Flash (John Corbett), and more.
IGN: Season 1 focused a lot on Gigi's introduction and her trying to find a way into her father's life. But now that she's a part of the group, what's in store for her this year?
The 9 Coolest Booths at Anime Expo
Taking up more space in the Los Angeles Convention Center than E3, Anime Expo is huge. This year's Anime Expo hosted some fantastic booths that not only offered exclusive collectibles and chances to win prizes, but also a look at some of the real art used to make anime. Here are nine of the coolest booths IGN saw at Anime Expo 2016.
The Aniplex booth hosted an A-1 Pictures exhibit that featured art used in several A-1 Pictures anime — including Sword Art Online, Erased, Your Lie in April — and monitors above them that showed the art in action. The gallery also had a rotating cast of cosplayers that dressed as characters from the shows on display.
