Game of Thrones Cast Surprised by Emmy nominations
Game of Thrones is once again dominating the Emmy Awards nominations. Season 6 of the HBO series racked up 23 nominations total, including Outstanding Drama Series and six acting nominations.
A handful of new Game of Thrones faces have been added into the nomination pool this year. In addition to repeat nominees Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington and Maisie Williams were both nominated for supporting actor for the first time. Max Von Sydow also was nominated for guest actor.
Kit Harrington expressed surprise in his released statement, "It is a serious understatement to say that I am somewhat stunned. For my work on Game of Thrones to be recognized in this way is an emotional moment for me. I could not be more humbled."

Sofia Coppola’s upcoming remake of the classic Civil War drama The Beguiled may star Colin Farrell.
Sources have told Variety the actor, known for his roles in Total Recall and In Bruges, is currently in talks to star alongside Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning in the film.

Microsoft has revealed a blood-red, limited edition Gears of War 4-themed Xbox One S. The bundle, priced at $450 USD, will begin shipping in mid-September.
In addition to the 2 TB console, the bundle includes a matching controller, a digital copy of Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition, the Season Pass, access to the game four days early, a multiplayer emblem, character and weapon skins, and six “Gear” packs containing additional in-game items.

Star Wars Battlefront Gets New Offline Mode, Death Star Teased
EA has unveiled what to expect from Star Wars Battlefront over the next few months.
First of all, a new, much-requested offline mode has been announced: Skirmish. It will be available from July 20, and you'll be able to play against bots in a solo mission or with a friend using split-screen.
Skirmish has multiple difficulty levels, and you can play across two modes, namely Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron.
In addition, there are more free in-game events coming, such as new Hutt Contracts, new login rewards, and open trials to experience the cloud city of Bespin.

Sony Reportedly Won’t Have a Press Conference at Gamescom
It looks like Sony won't be holding a press conference at this year's Gamescom either.
According to Jeux Video (via VideoGamer), a PlayStation France representative told them "there will be no PlayStation conference at Gamescom."
IGN has reached out to Sony, and we'll be sure to update you when we have more information.
This follows similar news from earlier this week when Microsoft announced it definitely won't be holding a press conference in Cologne next month.
