Witcher Dev ‘Would Love’ PS4-Xbox One Cross-Network Play for Gwent
The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt is interested in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One cross-play for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.
Like Rocket League developer Psyonix, CD Projekt has a cross-play solution ready to go; Sony just needs to give the green light. "We are keeping our fingers crossed for Rocket League paving the way," CD Projekt CEO Marcin Iwiński said in a statement issued to IGN. "Our upcoming Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will launch in closed beta for PC and Xbox One later this year, and Microsoft already confirmed Gwent's cross-play feature not only between Xbox One and PC, but also other consoles if they allow it. We also do have a technical solution in place for PS4 and would love to add Sony’s platform to cross-play at the start of open beta. All we need is a green light from Sony."

Someone Has ‘Completed’ the US Version of Pokemon Go
Reddit user ftb_hodor has caught every currently available Pokemon in the United States in Pokemon Go, but their Pokedex isn't quite complete.
According to ftb_hodor's post on Reddit, they have 142 Pokemon caught, and it took them walking 153km to do so. However the actual figure may be greater: "Game recorded 153km, but it's not all that accurate, and according to the Health app i've walked 129.04 miles in that time (almost all of that would be with the game open), or about 200km."
Currently it is thought there are five unreleased Pokemon, namely the three legendary birds, Mewtwo, and Ditto. Plus, there are four Pokemon which are thought to be region specific.
Nioh: Date for Second Downloadable Demo Revealed
Koei Tecmo has revealed the next beta demo for Nioh will be available from August 23 until September 6.
The first demo released in April, and players who completed one stage will be rewarded with some exclusive launch content when the game eventually comes out.
The upcoming demo will feature a long-range hand cannon rifle, along with a new selection of katanas, spears, axes, and hammers. You'll be taught the basics of the combat system in a new dojo stage, face off against opponents in the Usuki stage from the previous demo, and there will also be another location, which is yet to be announced.
Pokemon Go Is Causing UK Shoppers to Go Into a Poke-frenzy
It turns out there are Pokemon-related products other than Pokemon Go, and they're all doing really well because of it.
For example, did you know there are other handheld Pokemon games? They've been making them for 20 years, apparently. In the UK, according to GfK via MCV, Pokemon 3DS game sales have increased by 145 percent since last week. As for the specific games, Pokemon X has been the most successful, with sales increasing by 238 percent in the week ending July 16.
MCV also reports Nintendo has raised its projections for the upcoming Pokemon Sun and Moon, as pre-orders have increased since last week, causing the games to be among the top 10 most pre-ordered games on Amazon.
“Surprising” Rocket League Update to be Announced Soon
Rocket League will reveal Rocket League's "surprising" next update in the next two weeks.
"As we get closer to the Rocket League Championship Series," explained vice president Jeremy Dunham to IGN, "around that time
is when we're going to start promoting our next update - and wait 'til people see it.
"We've got something brewing that a lot of people have been asking for in different forms but is also very surprising. It's going to be interesting, but it's going to be cool too."
It's not immediately clear what that much-requested feature could be. Popular ideas on the Rocket League Suggestions forum include garages for saved cars, more customisable vehicles and custom goal explosions, while the second most upvoted post of all time on the Rocket League subreddit is a beachball-and-powerboats mode.
Ark: Survival of the Fittest on Hold for PS4
Ark: Survival of the Fittest — the free-to-play, action-oriented version of Studio Wildcard's dinosaur survival game, Ark: Survival Evolved — has been put on hold for PlayStation 4.
The game, which is already available on PC, was initially scheduled for release on Sony's console on July 19. A new release date has not been named. Developer Studio Wildcard will use this extra time to prepare Ark: Survival Evolved for its PlayStation 4 release.
"While this means Ark: Survival of the Fittest won't be releasing on PlayStation 4 in July 2016, we're working towards an earlier release of Ark: Survival Evolved
Amnesia/SOMA Dev Working on First Non-Horror Game
Frictional Games, creator of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and last year's SOMA, is branching out and starting work on its first non-horror game.
According to Wow247's interview with creative director Thomas Grip, there are two games in the works: "One game is horror... the other is not."
"We want to spread out on what Frictional does," said Grip. "We don't just want to be 'the horror guys.'" While the themes of the new project haven't yet been completely decided, Grip does want to look at taking "depressing facts about the world and making them into an experience."
Comic Book Reviews for July 20, 2016
It may be Comic-Con week, but publishers certainly didn't take a break from releasing new comics. DC's latest wave of Rebirth debuts included Batgirl and the Birds of Prey, Justice League and The Hellblazer. Marvel kicked off a pivotal new chapter of Star Wars while also drawing Miles Morales into the Civil War II conflict. And it was an especially great week for smaller publishers thanks to the debuts of Snotgirl, The Hunt and Black Hammer.

Star Wars Battlefront’s Skirmish Mode Is as Close as You’ll Get to Playing the Original Games
Let's put it this way - this is as close as you're going to get to those nostalgic memories you have of the original Battlefront games right now.
Skirmish mode has arrived, and it finally gives players an option to play the game's standout modes alone or with a friend against hapless AI troopers, offline. Here's a quick blast of us having a go on Walker Assault in split-screen:
As you can see, Skirmish attempts to recreate Battlefront's online matches as perfectly as possible, with no added bells or whistles. It's good news for those who want to play the old-fashioned way, but it won't satisfy those clamoring for a fully-fledged Campaign mode.
