How the Old Superman Fits Into DC’s Rebirth
DC Comics Rebirth has reinvigorated their comics line, and so far no character has benefitted more from this new status quo than Superman. Today's Rebirth panel at Comic-Con took a brief look at where the last son of Krypton stands now and offered a few teases of what's to come.
Before diving into the main Superman books, the panel introduced writer Gene Yang (he had to leave early due to a booking mishap) to take a look at the New Super-Man. Kenan Kong, whom Yang described as "kind of a jerk", took up the mantle of China's Super-man a few weeks ago, and its clear this book will work hard to carve out its own little niche in the DC Universe. Yang explained how reluctant he was at first to take on the character:
Game of Thrones Actress on Why Sansa Hid Her Big Secret
Warning: Spoilers for the final two episodes of Game of Thrones season six.
During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, Games of Thrones actress Sophie Turner speculated on why Sansa didn't tell Jon Snow about a major plot point in the season's penultimate episode.
In The Battle of the Bastards, Littlefinger and the Knights of the Vale arrive in The North, surprising Ramsay Snow's army just as it's about to crush the life out of Jon Snow and Sansa's meager alliance of Wildlings and Northern Houses.
But the nagging question remained as to why Sansa didn't share her strategic plea for help with Jon Snow, or any of the military counselors, in the build up to the incredible battle.
Pokemon Go Boosts Interest in Trading Cards
In addition to setting a new iTunes record and doubling sales at some business, Pokemon Go has caused a surge in sales of the collectible trading cards.
According to an eBay buying guide (via Heritage Auctions), worldwide sales for Pokemon cards priced over $300 on eBay have nearly doubled since the launch of Pokemon Go.
Divided We Stand Will Explore Civil War II Fallout
All through Comic-Con, Marvel has been touting big changes for its comic universe following Civil War II. Today's Divided We Stand panel was no different, as Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso was joined by writers Jason Aaron, Reilly Brown, Ryan North, Humberto Ramos, David Walker, and Jim Zub to discuss what lies ahead for Marvel's heroes.
First up was Jason Aaron and his two Thor comics. Jane Foster's Mighty Thor dives into Divided We Stand starting with issue #15, which Aaron described as "Lord of the Rings vs. Star Wars." That grabbed the attention of everyone in the room, because when Jason Aaron says something like that you just know the story is going to be completely, wonderfully bonkers.
Pokemon Go Sets New iTunes Record
Niantic Labs' mobile phenomenon has set a new record for iTunes, as Pokemon Go had more downloads during its first week than any other app in the history of the service.
Apple confirmed the news to Polygon, but didn't provide any specific download numbers.
Shortly after its launch in the United States, Pokemon Go quickly became the App Store's top grossing and top free app. The new creature-collecting game made such a splash that it's doubling sales at some business and turning the heads of other game studios, with Ubisoft saying it's "very impressed" by Pokemon Go.

The 100 Gets a New Full Time Cast Member
During today's panel for The 100 at San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that Black Sails star Zach McGowan will appear in Season 4 of The CW's hit drama as a series regular.
McGowan returns to the series after joining The 100 during its third season as the recurring character Roan.
During the panel, it was also confirmed that Nadia Hilker and Adina Porter will both be back for Season 4 to reprise their recurring roles as Luna and Indra, respectively.
The 100: Season 3 concluded earlier this year with an "amazing" finale. For more on what's to come for Ronan, Clarke and the rest of the show's cast, find out what Eliza Taylor had to say about Season 3's shocking ending and setting the stage for Season 4.
Watch the Trailer for The Walking Dead: Season 7
The Walking Dead unveiled its Season 7 trailer at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. Additionally, the new season will premiere Sunday, October 23rd at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with eight episodes airing straight and then the final eight episodes airing in February 2017 after a midseason break.
During the panel, it was revealed that Khary Payton will be playing Ezekiel in Season 7. Showrunner Scott Gimple promised that even though Payton is younger than Ezekiel is in the comics, his audition blew Robert Kirkman away.
Of course the trailer can't give away who was killed by Negan, and of course it did make the wait even harder. Showing a look back through the past six seasons of all the characters whose lives were at stake, TWD twisted the knife on viewers waiting to find out who's going to get the bat. That dripping bloody bat doesn't make things any easier either. Viewers get a sneak peek of how Negan will fit into the new season as he antagonizes several characters.
DC Announces Injustice 2 Prequel Comic
DC's long-running Injustice: Gods Among Us prequel comic will be coming to an end soon, but the saga isn't stopping there. Today at Comic-Con, DC revealed that they'll be launching a new series that will bridge the gap between the first game and its upcoming sequel.
Many fans probably suspected this announcement was coming, but the real surprise is that original writer Tom Taylor will be making his return to the franchise for the new series.
Injustice 2 will serve as a prequel to the game and chronicle the events leading up to the latest clash of heroes. DC hasn't revealed much about the plot of the comic. However, from what we know about the game so far, it's safe to assume that the comic will follow Batman and his resistance as they try to rebuild their war-torn world after defeating Superman.
BOOM! Studios Has Huge Plans for the Power Rangers
The Power Rangers franchise has been around for over two decades, and it may be about to enter its most popular era since first debuting back in 1993. With the television series still going strong and a new film on the way next year, it's a great time to be a Power Rangers fan.
What has some fans most excited, however, has been the new comic book series which debuted from BOOM! Studios this past March. Today's panel at Comic-Con was a celebration of the franchise's resurgence, with the focus on what BOOM! has been up to with the teenagers with attitude. Hosted by current Blue Ranger Yoshi Sudarso, the panel featured writers Kyle Higgins (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Steve Orlando (The Ongoing Adventures of Bulk and Skull), editor Dafna Pleban, along with Saban's director of global consumer products Jason Bischoff and director of development and production Melissa Flores.
