All the Movie X-Men…So Far
With X-Men: Apocalypse now in theaters, it's the perfect time to take a look at all the X-Men who have been part of the mutant super-team in the films in the Fox-produced series. This list isn't just limited to mainstays like Professor X and Wolverine -- we've also thrown in a few major characters who served on an X-team in the comics but appeared in the films as bad guys or just solo players. (Lookin' at you, Gambit.)
Some may complain about the absence of a name here or there -- Spike (an X-student in the comics), for example, pops up briefly in X-Men: The Last Stand but is barely more than a visual effect for Wolverine to slash at. Others may protest the exclusion of non-mutant movie characters who were nonetheless crucial components of certain X-lineups in the comics, like Moira MacTaggart and Kavita Rao. But yeah... not mutants. (As Mystique would say, this list is mutant and proud!)
Preacher Clip: Jesse is Used for a Mysterious Ritual
In this coming Sunday's second episode of AMC's Preacher - titled "See" - Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) finds out the hard way that he's being pursued by two out-of-towners, desperate to track down the cosmic power that's found its way into our hero.
Introduced in the pilot episode, Fiore (Tom Brooke) and DeBlanc (Anatol Yusef) are men on a mission. And here, in this exclusive clip from "See," you can watch them try to perform some sort of strange ritual over Jesse's unconscious body.
There's a musical contraption, a song (a version of the poem "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod"), and... well, not the results they're expecting. Take a look...
Preacher: "See" airs Sunday, June 5th at 9/8c on AMC.
Before Battlefield 1, EA Wasn’t Sure Young People Would Know WW1 Was a Thing
EA's CFO has said that, during the process of greenlighting DICE's Battlefield 1, the publishers wasn't sure if younger potential consumers would know what World War 1, World War 2 or even the Vietnam War were.
"World War 1," said Blake Jorgensen at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch 2016 Global Technology Conference (as reported by GameSpot). "We were worried that many of the younger consumers out there didn't know that there was a World War 2 or Vietnam, so World War 1..."
It seems to have been a long, questioning road for DICE's new project. Last month, we learned that EA Studios boss Patrick Söderlund originally "absolutely rejected" DICE's pitch, saying that a trench war "can't be fun to play."
Valve Has Sold Half a Million Steam Controllers
In a June update blog post, Valve has announced it has sold over half a million Steam Controllers since their release last year.
In addition to the controller's original features, you can now configure and use the controller from your desktop, and its Force Reactors can now "capture and reproduce the rumble effects" from various games. There's also full Steam Controller support in VR Game Theater mode, including being able to use its motion controls as a virtual steering wheel.
There are also more configuration options coming soon. Valve says upcoming updates will include being able to use Activators to assign actions to press-and-hold, double click, toggle, and more. The example the company gives is being able to cycle through all your weapons in DOOM by pressing a button, or double tapping it to bring up the BFG.
Painted and Certified Items Coming to Rocket League
Psyonix's post-release support of Rocket League continues, as now there are new changes coming to cosmetic items.
The item attribute system can assign special properties whenever you receive an online item drop, but it will be a rare occurrence.
First of all, Painted Items will recolor whatever you get with a unique pigment, and Bob Ross fans will be excited to learn the color will be randomly chosen from a set containing the likes of Titanium White and Burnt Sienna. The first release of painted items will include wheels and toppers.
Secondly, Ceritifed Items will track certain statistics while you play online. Each item will have a prefix designating which stat it is tracking, such as a "Sniper Wizard Hat." With this specific item, every time you score a Long Goal online, its counter will increase.
