Overwatch Bans Thousands of Cheaters
Blizzard is staying true to its promise to permanently ban Overwatch cheaters, including players taking advantage of "hacks, bots, or third-party software that provides any sort of unfair advantage," on their first offense.
A recent "worldwide" ban wave was announced on the official Overwatch forums, which includes 1,572 players in China alone.
Blizzard reminds Overwatch players that they can use the in-game report functionality to inform them of suspected cheaters, or email hacks@blizzard.com.
Overwatch Hits 7 Million Players
More than 7 million players have joined Overwatch's fight for the future, Blizzard Entertainment announced today.
Since the game launched worldwide on May 24, players have logged more than 119 million hours, making the launch one of the "most successful" of all time. Eleven million payloads have been delivered, with players swapping out heroes 326 million times.
Overwatch has seen support from Blizzard gamers, first-person shooter fans, and folks "who've never picked up a game like
before," Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said. "We poured a lot of effort into creating a game—and a new universe—that anyone could enjoy."
Morhaime added Blizzard is looking forward to "all of the fun, competition, and new content still to come."
The Flash: Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa to Direct DC Movie
Warner Bros. and DC Films have reportedly found a new director for The Flash in Dope's Rick Famuyiwa.
According to Deadline, Famuyiwa replaces Seth Grahame-Smith, who parted ways with the comic book movie when the studio decided it needed a more seasoned director at the helm.
Grahame-Smith would have made his feature film directorial debut with The Flash. He also penned the screenplay based on a treatment by The Lego Movie's Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Daily Deals: Xbox Live and PS Plus, Overwatch, Premium 4K TV
Amazon is selling years of Xbox Live for just $40. They usually charge around $54, and I've never seen them go lower than this. You do see Xbox Live subscription cards on eBay for as low as $35, but the convenience of Amazon's email delivery makes this a nice offer, especially if you're getting close to your subscription's expiration date.
Spider-Man 4 Concept Art Reveals Villains That Never Were
If the Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man films starring Tobey Maguire had continued, we would've seen Vulture and Mysterio as the villains.
Illustrator Jeffrey Henderson has posted a number of concept art images on his website, revealing what might have been. Check out the slideshow below for a handful of interesting storyboard snippets.
In the concept art we see Spidey escorting Mysterio through a police precinct, where he gets unmasked. Underneath the mask is a very Bruce Campbell-looking face, which isn't all that surprising. Campbell and Raimi are good friends, and Campbell made cameo appearances in each of the first three Spider-Man films.

X-Men Director Wants Mystique Solo Film
X-Men's Mystique is "right" for a standalone film, X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has said.
"I think
right for
," Singer said on the Empire Spoiler podcast, "whether it's Jennifer
or not. She has this different view of the world."
It'd provide a nice contrast to Xavier, the director added. The professor is more interested in teaching classes and "seeing the beauty of mutants and co-existing," but Mystique provides a "reality check on the state of the world." According to Singer, her worldview "opens up a lot of avenues."
