Just Cause 3 Mech Land Assault DLC Coming This Week
Just Cause 3's Mech Land Assault DLC pack will be available on June 3 for expansion pass holders, publisher Square Enix announced today.
Mech Land Assault will become available for $12 on June 10 for those who haven't purchased the expansion pass. The DLC, which is the second in Just Cause 3's Air, Land and Sea pass, introduces players to Lacrima—a new island with an "abandoned eDen research base" and a prison camp "run by the mysterious Black Hand."
Rico Rodriguez will gain access to two new, powerful Mechs and a "new energy weapon" called the Bavarium Power Core rifle.
"The new Mechs allow Rico to throw enemies, vehicles, and chaos objects around like tennis balls—increasing the scope for physics-based fun," Tobias Andersson, senior producer at Avalanche Studios said. "Whether you're juggling a small car or punching helicopters out of the sky, the Mechs give you the opportunity to mess with your surroundings in creative, explosive ways."
New Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Photos Released
Update: A handful of new photos providing a first look at Alex Price's Draco Malfoy and Anthony Boyle's Scorpius Malfoy in J.K. Rowling's stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child have been revealed.
See them, along with previously-released photos of Harry, Ginny and Albus Potter, as well as Ron, Hermione and Rose Granger-Weasley in our updated gallery below.
Jamie Parker will play Harry, with Poppy Miller as Ginny and Sam Clemmett as Albus Severus. It's the first time fans have seen Parker donning Harry's infamous scar and glasses—and the first time the stage play family has been photographed together.
"He simply is Harry now," Rowling told Pottermore. "There's a kind of relief in watching him, he gets it so right."
Mojang Says ‘No’ to Brands Using Minecraft to Sell Products
Mojang has updated its Commercial Usage Guidelines in a bid to stop companies from using Minecraft to sell a product.
In a post on the Mojang website, the Minecraft maker breaks down what brands can and can’t do moving forwards. Specifically, companies can no longer create a Minecraft mod or server which is designed to sell a product. The example Mojang gives is of a restaurant chain making a Minecraft version of their building, then using that image to help sell the chain’s food. ‘Brand synergy’ and all that.
Likewise, building a map or mod to market a TV show or movie is a no go area. From the Mojang post: “if you’re a movie studio, you can’t make a map that uses Minecraft blocks to build out the fictional world of the movie or its characters, and you can’t make an official movie trailer out of gameplay footage from that map or mod.”
Goldberg Spears His Way Into WWE 2K17
WWE and WCW icon, Goldberg, will be the pre-order bonus character for WWE 2K17. In a press release given to IGN, publisher 2K stated:
"Best known for his unprecedented 173-0 singles competition win streak in WCW from 1997 to 1998, Goldberg will appear in WWE 2K17 through two playable characters representing his WCW and WWE personas."
This marks the first time in 12 years that Goldberg has worked with the WWE, and according to him, his son had "a lot to do with it." Check out our interview with Goldberg at the top of the page for more of his thoughts on being featured in a WWE product after all this time.
As for 2K17, no solid gameplay details yet, but the release does outline an October launch window. It's also worth noting the presence of Xbox 360 and PS3 logos in the Goldberg trailer, indicating that a last-gen version will be developed again this year.
Resident Evil 5 Xbox One Release Date Listed
A listing on the Xbox Store has outed the Resident Evil 5 Xbox One release date as June 28.
The $20 / £16 Xbox One version of Resident Evil 5 will be available in 1080p with an increased frame rate.
The game will also include all previously released DLC: Lost in Nightmares, Desperate Escape, Versus Mode, The Mercenaries United mode, and the previously PC-exclusive No Mercy Mode.
Capcom has not revealed this date officially yet, so we will update you if it changes, or if this is also revealed to be the PlayStation 4 date.
The Xbox One and PS4 version of Resident Evil 6 launched earlier this year, and the Resident Evil 4 port is also due out in a few months time. There are also plans for a Resident Evil 2 remake.
Gran Turismo Sport Won’t Have Dynamic Weather
The next entry in the Gran Turismo franchise won't have dynamic time-lapsing or weather.
In an interview with GTPlanet, CEO of Polyphony Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed this news over the weekend.
Yamauchi said: “We opted to not have the transitions in the race this time in order to raise the framerate and the quality of the image *during* the race. So the user will be able to set that before they enter the race. So you’ll still be able to have night races, morning, races at dawn, dusk, and so on.”
This news will disappoint fans who enjoy the ever-changing nature of Gran Turismo races, but the switch to more constant conditions will apparently improve the technical quality of the game. There will be 19 tracks (including dirt tracks) with 27 possible layouts, and you'll be able to have up to 20 cars on the grid.
Dan Aykroyd: New Ghostbusters Has ‘More Laughs and More Scares’ Than Originals
Original Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd has said that the new Ghostbusters film "has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films".
Writing on his Facebook page, the writer/star of the original two films praised "brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male" after watching a test screening. He even addressed the hilarious elephant in the room, saying that this was despite Bill Murray appearing in the originals.
The new Ghostbusters, which features an all-female lead cast, has attracted criticism from some of the darker corners of the Internet.
If Aykroyd is to be believed, we have a treat in store: "As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I'm paying to see
Watch Us Play Hitman Episode 3 Live
The third episode of Hitman releases today, and we'll soon be rowing our boats not-so-gently down the livestream to bring you all the action.
IGN's Rory "Shredder" Powers and Gav "Murderous" Murphy will slip back into Agent 47's shoes to play through the third episode, which takes place in the same kind of dusty, exotic metropolis that perfume adverts are filmed in.
Only, Dior usually omits the sound of pistol gun fire.
But that's what we're in Marrakech for, after all, so strap yourself in and ready your garrottes.

Fans Protest as Chinese Translations Rename Pokémon Characters
In an effort to translate Pokémon games into traditional and simplified Chinese, Nintendo has essentially renamed Pokémon characters, including Pikachu.
The Pokémon Company recently announced Pokémon Sun and Moon for Nintendo 3DS. These are first Pokémon games to be translated into Mandarin, but in doing so, the efforts overlook Hong Kong's primary language, Cantonese.
According to QZ.com, in Greater China Pokémon will be officially called 精靈寶可夢 -- or "Jingling Baokemeng" in Mandarin (Jingling means “spirit” or “elf,” and Baokemeng is a transliteration of Pokémon).
Starbreeze Acquires PayDay Franchise, Confirms Payday 3
Stockholm-based studio Starbreeze has announced today it has struck a deal with publisher 505 Games to acquire the rights to the PayDay franchise. Following the agreement Starbreeze will be the sole rightsholder for the entire PayDay series.
Starbreeze notes that it will collect all net revenue from sales of PayDay 2 via Steam (starting retroactively from May 1, 2016), but 505 Games will continue to publish the console game PayDay 2: Crimewave Edition (and revenue will continue to be split between the companies).
Starbreeze also confirmed the existence of PayDay 3 within the announcement, explaining 505 Games will share in the net revenue of PayDay 3 (capped at USD $40 million).
