The Entertainment Software Association has announced E3 Live 2016, a free, ticketed satellite event open to the public throughout the course of the core E3 show, from June 14-16.
Taking place at the LA Live complex - situated next door to E3's home, the LA Convention Centre - the event will feature playable games, live entertainment, industry personality meet-ups and exclusive merchandise for sale. No specific playable games have been detailed at time of writing.
Tickets are available now on a first-come-first-served basis from the E3 Live website.

What We Saw on the Set of Star Trek Beyond
Things are not looking good for the crew of the USS Enterprise.
Captain Kirk (Chris Pine), Mr. Spock (Zachary Quinto), Dr. McCoy (Karl Urban), Scotty (Simon Pegg) and Chekov (Anton Yelchin) are standing on the dark, battered bridge of a ship that is not the Enterprise… and that seems to be barely functioning at all. Spock is wounded, and while Kirk is giving him a pep talk, it’s clear that some bad s#!t has gone down for Starfleet’s finest. “We have no ship, no crew!” yells Kirk. Space… the final frontier, indeed.
It’s August of 2015 and I’m on the Vancouver set of Star Trek Beyond, the third film in J.J. Abrams’ rebooted big-screen series. After directing Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), Abrams warped away -- or rather, made the jump to lightspeed -- in order to helm the rebirth of that other sci-fi juggernaut, Star Wars, with The Force Awakens. And while he has remained on Beyond as a producer, the center seat of the Trek world is currently being filled by Justin Lin, the man behind four Fast and Furious films (and the guy largely responsible for that series’ unlikely resurgence once he came onboard with the third movie).
Cliff Bleszinski Reveals His Favorite Gears of War Game
Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski stopped by the IGN office to discuss his history at Epic Games and shared with us why his favorite entry in Microsoft's beloved cover-based shooter series is Gears of War 3.
In the latest episode of IGN Unfiltered, the Boss Key Productions co-founder said that while many still believe Gears 1 is the series' best installment, the third entry tops his list because "that's where we really honed things and had dedicated servers and everything. We had multiple game types, different characters, women in the battle.... It was cool."
For Bleszinski, Gears of War 3 was "kind of the culmination of everything," with the game's conclusion serving as a metaphor for his experience relaxing on the Carolina coast, and the character Anya Stroud (and her relationship with Marcus Fenix) drawing inspiration from his wife Lauren.
