Uncharted 4’s Ending Will Be Divisive

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End – announced to be the final installment of Nathan Drake's adventures – is now finished and in final code, which means creative director Neil Druckmann has started getting feedback about what people think of the end of the game.

"I think people will discuss the ending. If focus tests are anything to go by, there will be some arguments about the ending," he told IGN during a recent A Thief's End gameplay event. "I'm excited. Indifference would be the worst thing. I would rather have people hate it than be indifferent to it. We'll see how they react."

Does that mean Nathan Drake is heading toward a final end? "Do you really want me to tell you? You don't really want me to tell you," Druckmann said, laughing, when asked point-blank if Nate will survive the end of the game.

Hands On with Nathan Drake’s Final Adventure

"This is the last mark we get to make with Nathan Drake," said Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann as he introduced gameplay for the latest and seemingly final Uncharted title, A Thief's End.

Gathered at a hip Los Angeles hotel to present the first look at single-player mode in Uncharted 4, the creative director was both giddy and somewhat defensive. After several delays, the new Nathan Drake adventure was finally finished. Press were sitting down to experience new elements of the gameplay hands-on. A Thief's End's May 10 release date is looming ever closer. It's a big finish for a franchise that first debuted almost nine years ago, and one that's become increasingly special to its developers.

Dark Souls 3’s Butt Glitch Is the New Internet Hotness

The Witcher 3 had Roach. Assassin's Creed Unity had that face. So it is that every big game must have its own standout glitch, and we are proud to present Dark Souls 3's inadvertent mooning characters.

As flagged by Kotaku, Japanese players who got the game earlier than their Western counterparts have been chronicling the glitch - which seems to occur when robed characters prostrate themselves using an emote - with Twitter user ziku66661 becoming a particularly fine source:

Are Battleborn and Overwatch Really Shooters First?

The short answer to the article title is: yeah, kinda. The longer answer requires some exploration.

Shooter aficionados are pretty familiar with genre blurring. For a long time now, role playing game (RPG) mechanics have been a staple of the shooter experience, if only in terms of multiplayer. Character, kit and weapon customisation; progression systems; and even loot drops have become standard tropes in the shooter space for aiding players in role-playing their somewhat personalised shooter experience.

But lately a new shooter subgenre has emerged – the so-called ‘hero-shooter’ – which seeks to delve even further into RPG mechanics. While the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA for shortsies) is, itself, a subgenre born of the real time strategy (RTS) space, it’s more accurately a fusing of RPG standards with strategy principles. The MOBA digs deeper into RPG territory than the RPG-lite mechanics of your average mainstream shooter (first-person looters notwithstanding).

Batman v Superman: Watch Them Create General Zod’s Body

Ever wondered how you create the corpse of a Kryptonian? Watch out for spoilers in this article and accompanying video.

In the video below (thanks Heroic Hollywood), you'll see the painstaking process special effects company Amalgamated Dynamics went through to create two replicas of the body of General Zod, who died in Man of Steel. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we see the destruction of Metropolis from a different perspective, and Zod makes an appearance.

"ADI created two ultra-realistic replicas of the deceased General Zod that would withstand close scrutiny by a camera lens," says the video's description. "Fitness trainer Greg Plitt came to ADI for us to lifecast his body from the neck down while our colleague Barney Burman loaned us a headcast of actor Michael Shannon.
