Hand of Fate 2 Announced for Early 2017 Release
Brisbane, Australia-based Defiant Development has today confirmed a sequel to 2015’s Hand of Fate is officially on the cards, so to speak. Hand of Fate 2 will launch on Windows, Mac, and Linux early next year.
Part card-based board game, part third-person combat, Hand of Fate 2 will unfold just like the original, demanding players overcome trials triggered by collectible cards handed out by the dealer. The sequel, however, will add new challenging and powerful cards, new enemy types, new equipment (including two-handed and dual-wielded weapons), and new companions who will fight alongside players.
“Hand of Fate demanded players prepare themselves for any possible outcome with each overturned card,” said Defiant Development director Morgan Jaffit. “With the new mechanics we’ve added into Hand of Fate 2, even players who mastered the first game will once again be challenged by the luck of the draw.”
Watch SHIELD’s Epic New Single-Take Fight Scene
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD hasn't forgotten its coolest fight moment of Season 2: when Skye took out a room of Hydra agents in a scene shot in a single take.
When it came time for director Kevin Tancharoen to once again helm an episode of SHIELD in Season 3, he and star Chloe Bennet were tasked with creating yet another epic one-take fight.
John Boyega and Daisy Ridley Rap About Star Wars
The US Target exclusive edition of Star Wars: The Force Awakens has an extra special feature where Daisy Ridley raps about Star Wars.
Ridley, who plays Rey in the film, raps along to a beat laid down by co-star John Boyega, who plays Finn. Check out the clip on Hulu if you're in the US, or on Entertainment Tonight's YouTube video below.
"I've a good eye for talent," says Boyega. "Daisy was just doing like a little rap one day and I just said 'you know what? I can make you a big star.' So we decided to collaborate on a song together."
45 Movies from Before Spidey Conquered Hollywood
A solid case can be made for the proposition that 2000's X-Men kicked off the modern era of blockbuster comic-book adaptations. Its quality script, talented cast and believable effects demonstrated that filmmaking had finally advanced enough to take fans on a live-action thrill ride that could closely approximate the heightened reality of comic books. And when Sam Raimi's Spider-Man followed two years later, it became clear that the big-budget comic-book movie wasn't going anywhere.
Of course, there were plenty of very successful (and many more not-so-successful) live-action films and TV movies based on comics before X-Men and Spidey. Some, like The Shadow and Hop Harrigan, came 50 or even 60 years before. (Apologies for the obvious Hop Harrigan click bait. Nothing generates page views like WWII-era adventure serials.)
Joel McHale to Portray Community Co-Star Chevy Chase in Netflix Movie
Former Community star Joel McHale is set to play fellow former Community star Chevy Chase in a biopic about the founding of National Lampoon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, McHale is in final talks to join the Netflix-produced film, titled A Futile and Stupid Gesture. Based on a biography of the same name by Josh Karp, the movie will follow National Lampoon co-founder Doug Kenney from his time as an editor of the Harvard Lampoon to his tragic death at 33.
Kenney and Chase were close friends and, after Caddyshack received poor reviews, Chase took Kenney to Hawaii to cheer him up. When Chase had to return to Los Angeles, Kenney stayed behind and was later found dead at the bottom of a cliff on August 29, 1980.
Nintendo Files Patent For Object Detecting Device
A patent application filed by Nintendo for a device able to detect objects and be used as a controller of sorts has been made public.
Filed in 2014, the documents were published yesterday and contain a great amount of technical detail on a device that can use cameras and mirrors to read and detect objects around it.
Though similar in appearance to an NFC reader for the 3DS, this device is a new design that can use a camera to photograph and detect the area around it, as well as use a light-source projector. The detection device would also be capable of wireless transmission with a computer. A detailed description of the patent can be found in this NeoGAF post.
Star Wars: Kylo Ren Collects the Ashes of His Victims
Kylo Ren collects more than just Darth Vader's helmet. In fact, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the First Order villain places his helmet on a table that we've now learned holds the ashes of his victims.
Director J.J. Abrams revealed the unsettling information about Kylo Ren's collection while speaking to EW. "The backstory is, that that table has the ashes of the enemies he’s killed," Abrams said.
"That moment was actually shot for, and meant to be used in, the scene where he was talking to the Vader mask."
The revelation about Kylo Ren makes the Star Wars character seem even more twisted by the Dark Side.
Donut Drake Removed From Uncharted 4
Donut Drake—Naughty Dog's plus-sized protagonist skin—won't appear in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
In previous games, players could unlock the overweight model, whose voice is also a lot deeper than Drake's normally is. And the character was originally in series' final game, but Naughty Dog ultimately decided to pull the skin.

"I didn't want to have a laugh at someone's expense," Neil Druckmann, creative director at Naughty Dog, told GamesRadar. "I thought we'd matured beyond that."
Looking Back at the Highlights of WrestleMania
Hey guys, Eric here with the first of two episodes we recorded this week while we were actually in the same place (gasp!), as I traveled to Matt's stomping grounds in Dallas, Texas for WrestleMania 32.
The other Channel Surfing we recorded, going up Wednesday is a regular episode, touching upon several different TV series. But this one is all about wrestling!
The two of us attended several WWE events over the course of four days, including WrestleMania itself, the WWE Hall of Fame, NXT TakeOver and the post-Mania RAW, all of which we discuss here. So if you're not into wrestling, well, this one might not be for you, alas!
