Inhumans Movie May Push Back Release Date
Marvel's Inhumans movie will likely be pushed back from its expected July 12, 2019 release date, due to Disney's recent announcement of a new Indiana Jones. The new Indy flick is scheduled to be released just one week later, on July 19.
"Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Collider. Feige called the addition of Ant-Man and the Wasp "a big fun continuation of that story."
But with Disney's Indiana Jones announcement, Feige said he thinks the release will "shuffle off the current date that it’s on right now." As for how long that will be, Feige said "I’m not sure yet."
GotG’s Star-Lord Will Be in Avengers: Infinity War
Star-Lord is going to bring his awesome mix to Marvel's The Avengers: Infinity War.
Captain America: Civil War filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed with Birth Movies Death that Chris Pratt's Star-Lord will pop up in the next Avengers movie, which they are also directing.
However, the directors didn't state whether the Guardians of the Galaxy character would show up in the first or second installment (or possibly both) of the two-part sequel.
Before that, though, Star-Lord will appear next in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which opens May 5, 2017.
Thor 3: Creed’s Thompson Joins, Portman Sitting It Out
Tessa Thompson (Creed, Selma, Dear White People) is reportedly joining the cast of Thor: Ragnarok, while Dr. Jane Foster actress Natalie Portman is said to be sitting out this installment.
According to Deadline, "Thompson’s character in Thor: Ragnarok will be a kind of superhero and will appear in other Marvel films as well."
THR reports that Portman will not return as Thor's love interest and that Thompson's role could be the film's female lead in that case.
Jungle Book 2 Already in the Works at Disney
Disney is already working on a sequel to The Jungle Book, even though the first hasn't opened everywhere.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jungle Book filmmaker Jon Favreau is already in negotiations to return to the director's chair for the follow-up, as well as produce. Disney is also talking to screenwriter Justin Marks about coming back for the sequel.
The Jungle Book saw a strong debut in Asia and Latin America over the weekend, pulling in $31.7 million. That success coupled with early positive press for the live-action/CG hybrid film are two possible reasons Disney is already moving ahead with a sequel.
Awesome Images From the New Suicide Squad Trailer
The latest trailer for August's Suicide Squad movie dropped yesterday, and gives us a better look at everyone's favorite group of DC anti-heroes.
It's not just villains turned heroes, as Gotham City's own caped crusader is seen clinging to the roof of Jared Leto's Joker's metallic purple sports car. But there's plenty else to see, including guns, swords, fire, and more guns.
Backing the trailer, or at least the second half, is The Sweet's Ballroom Blitz. With the last trailer scored by Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, the trailers seem to be pulling musical cues from the 1992 comedy Wayne's World. Will the next trailer feature Alice Cooper's Feed My Frankenstein? Only time will tell.
Kong: Skull Island Story and Character Details Revealed
New details about Kong: Skull Island have been revealed, shedding light on the movie's setting, story and cast of characters.
In an MTV sneak peek at the film's set, the cast shared a few details about Skull Island's plot, which takes place during the Vietnam era and centers around "a group of explorers who set off on an adventure to a previously uncharted island." Upon arriving to the island, the crew discovers it's inhabited by "mythic beasts that come into their midsts, and they have to get off the island alive."
Legendary's ape-centric film features an all-star cast, including Brie Larson as a peace activist and photojournalist named Weaver, Tom Hiddleston as former British SAS Officer Captain James Conrad, and Jason Mitchell as a helicopter pilot named Glenn Mill. Several others, including Corey Hawkins, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman and Thomas Mann will star as well.
Flyboard Air Hoverboard Doesn’t Use Wheels to Get Around
Zapata Racing’s Flyboard Air may still be in the testing stages, but it’s definitely closer to the concept of a hoverboard than the self-balancing skateboards that rely on wheels and batteries to move.
The Flyboard Air is Zapata’s latest creation, following in the footsteps of the water-powered Flyboards and Jetpacks the company has made in the past. Using what appears to be a jet turbine engine, the Air is supposedly able to achieve a maximum altitude of 10,000 feet, a top speed of 93 mph, and fly continuously for about 10 minutes.
Ridley: Rogue One’s Jyn Erso Not Rey’s Mom
Daisy Ridley has put one Star Wars: Rogue One fan rumor to rest for now.
When the Rogue One trailer dropped last week, there were rumblings that rebel fighter Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones, could be Rey's mother.
According to MTV, Ridley said, "I'm not being funny you guys, but just because she's white and got brown hair... it doesn't mean she's my mom."
