Why Doom’s Multiplayer Really Isn’t an Arena Shooter
id Software has a long and storied history in the first person shooter space, and I, like many gamers, have been hoping that the new Doom would deliver for fans of both the studio’s titanic series’. It would be a brutal, fast-paced single player game against overwhelming odds, while the multiplayer would build on everything that made the Quake series such a force to be reckoned with.
The former may certainly come to pass, but as far as multiplayer is concerned, my time with the closed beta has left me disappointed. Simply put, Doom is not going to provide a true arena shooter experience, and it’s best not to think of it as one. This, despite being presented as an arena shooter in terms of its map design and presentation, its developer descriptions at QuakeCon, and in promotional videos.

Comic-Con May Broadcast Hall H Panels
Comic-Con International is launching its own subscription video-on-demand platform, which means subscribers could get a coveted look into the packed panels taking place in San Diego Convention Center's Hall H.
"We're going to be working with every single studio, every single panel host to be able to take the content and put it on our platform," Seth Laderman, executive vice president and general manager of Comic-Con HQ, told SlashFilm.
Panels definitely won't be live-streamed, but would be added "shortly after." The company doesn't want to take away the "experience of people who are the first to see and be there for
FCC Filing Sparks New Xbox Hardware Speculation
Microsoft has filed two as yet unspecified devices with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which some believe points to the existence of two new pieces of Xbox hardware.
The FCC regulates all data transmission devices sold in the US, which includes video game hardware. The two filings - listed on the FCC website as model numbers 1682 and 1683 last month - were spotted and shared on NeoGAF by user ekim.
While all we can do is speculate at this time, it's possible item 1683 is a refreshed Xbox One console, as the listing references User Manual 1525, an item already submitted to the FCC when the original Xbox One console (and it's accompanying wireless chip) was filed. This suggests that whatever 1683 is, it uses the same user manual as the original Xbox One.
The Division’s Latest Patch Seems to be Deleting Xbox One Users’ Characters
Xbox One users are reporting character-deleting bugs following The Division's 1.1 patch going live.
In a Reddit thread, hundreds of players have complained of seeing their agents go missing in action. An Ubisoft engineer, Jan Harasym (known on Reddit as Dijit) has been collecting affected users' Gamertags, and has said:
"I've received enough player names and we're looking into each character individually, We'll get back to you with more information as soon as we can."
There's been no further information on how or when a fix could be implemented. No similar problems seem to be affecting the PC or PS4 versions at time of writing. We've contacted Ubisoft for comment.

What Hive Looks Like in the Comics vs. Agents of SHIELD
Spoilers for Agents of SHIELD episode "Paradise Lost" continue below.
Hive revealed its true face during Agents of SHIELD's latest episode, and it's not nearly as handsome as Brett Dalton's. In a moment of power, Hive showed what he looks like when he's not taking on the face of Grant Ward -- and that ugly mug might have looked a bit familiar to fans of Marvel comics.
Here's how Hive looks the Marvel comics compared to how he's been portrayed in Agents of SHIELD:
Those tentacles? That generally terrifying demeanor? Pretty much spot-on to the Hive that was introduced in Secret Warriors #2 back in 2009. Though the character's origins are a bit different in the comics versus its Agents of SHIELD incarnation, it is exciting that the show decided to go this route with Hive, especially if we'll see more of this version in the future.
Robin Williams Was Originally Considered to Play The BFG
Though a movie based on Roald Dahl's novel The BFG is being released this summer with Mark Rylance starring as the Big Friendly Giant, Robin Williams was originally considered for the role when plans for an adaptation began in the early '90s.
According to Entertainment Weekly, producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall wanted Williams for the part, but due to technological limitations at the time, they couldn't find a way to make the interactivity between his character and a little orphan girl work. "Robin spent a lot of time with us actually doing cast readings and he was hilarious," Kennedy told the outlet. "He would have been a great BFG."

According to Mashable, Affleck took the stage after Tsujihara's opening words during the Warner Bros. presentation to voice his enthusiasm about the film and future ones, stating, "It's been tremendously exciting for us to be a part of the DC Universe, and we're looking forward to working on Justice League."
