Shinobi Movie in Development With Scott Pilgrim Producer
Shinobi is getting a movie adaptation, courtesy of Wanted and Scott Pilgrim producer Marc Platt.
The ninja-focused game series is a SEGA property, and Platt is working with the Japanese company and Stories International to bring the franchise to the silver screen. Shinobi debuted in arcades in 1987, and the last game released on Nintendo 3DS in 2011.
“We love the Shinobi games and believe that the world of ninjas has never been properly explored onscreen," Platt said in a statement. "We now have the opportunity to do just that. With Shinobi, we hope to make a film that honors the essence of the games."
It's unknown if the Shinobi film will star the original hero of the games, Joe Musashi, or someone else.

Outlander: The Frustrations and Joys Facing Claire and Jamie
Spoilers for Outlander: Season 2 continue below.
Jamie and Claire are having a hard go of their Paris adventure as Outlander enters the fourth episode of Season 2. Their mission of trying to stop the Battle of Culloden from taking place has sent them on two separate storylines, and that disconnect -- coupled with residual trauma from the end of Season 1 -- are taking their toll on Outlander's two main characters.
"Jamie’s definitely still scarred physically but also mentally," star Sam Heughan said. "He doesn’t deal with it, so he pushes it to one side, and he’s also got this mission, so he’s dealing with that. Claire is also. They lose track of each other, they lose contact, and it becomes poisonous in their relationship and it kind of implodes on them."
