Supergiant Games Announces Pyre for PS4
The makers of Bastion and Transistor have announced their next game.
Writer and designer Greg Kasavin describes the new game, called Pyre, as about leading a party of characters "through an ancient competition spread across a vast, mystical purgatory."
Besides making choices and interacting with characters on the game's world map, your band of characters will engage in "fast, action-packed" combat. Ultimately it's your decisions that "will determine who returns to glory, and who remains in exile to the end of their days."
Pyre is currently scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 and PC sometime in 2017. Though the game will be playable as early as this Friday at PAX East.
Apple Updates MacBook With Faster Processor, Longer Battery Life
A year after Apple launched its thinnest MacBook ever, the company has released an update to the hardware, giving it a faster processor, and an improved battery life.
The updated 12-inch Retina MacBook, which keeps the same design as the original, now uses Intel’s sixth-generation Core M processor, as well as the new Intel HD Graphics 515, resulting in 25 percent faster graphical performance. Additionally, the new MacBook has faster flash storage, and owners can now get up to 10 hours of wireless web browsing (or 11 hours of movie playback).
New MacBooks are available now from Apple.com, and will hit retail stores starting tomorrow. In addition to gold, silver, and space gray, the 12-inch MacBook will also come in Rose Gold for the first time.
GoT Season 6 Premiere Screenings Hitting US Cities
Game of Thrones fans in four U.S. cities will get to watch the upcoming season premiere on the silver screen.
EW is reporting the Game of Thrones: Season 6 premiere screenings will take place in Atlanta, Austin, Boston and Denver on Sunday night. So as previously stated, no one will see the HBO show early, unless you happen to be the president of the United States.
Now this isn't the first time HBO has brought Game of Thrones to movie theaters. Last year, IMAX screenings of two Season 4 episodes brought in about $2 million over a weekend.
Better Call Saul Creators Confirm Who Left That Note
Better Call Saul producers have confirmed that a fan theory regarding the second season finale is correct.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould said that villain Gustavo Fring, played by Giancarlo Esposito, would appear in Season 3.
"We were hoping it would be more of an open question at this point," co-creator Peter Gould told Vanity Fair. "We had this—to us—this very bright idea of encoding the words 'Fring’s Back' in the episode titles. We worked very hard; more than that, the folks in our office, Jenn Carroll and Ariel Levine, worked very, very hard trying to help us figure that out. And we thought we’d be revealing it maybe sometime over the summer."
Silver Surfer, Wonder Woman Comics Nab Eisner Nominations
The list of nominees for the 2016 Eisner Awards are out, with Marvel's Silver Surfer series by Dan Slott and Michael Allred earning a number of nominations including Best Single Issue/One-Shot, Best Penciller/Inker, and Best Continuing Series.
DC has a couple of books up for awards as well, including Renae De Liz's The Legend of Wonder Woman for Best Digital/Web Comic and Vertigo's Black Death in America by Tom King and John Paul Leon for Best Short Story.
Overall though, the lion's share of nominations went to independent publishers like Fantagraphics Books with 12 nominations and BOOM! Studios with 8.
Wrestling Wrap Up: The Bullet Club Reunites on RAW
Another Shane McMahon (no vest!) controlled RAW this week, straight from foggy London town. Home of Jack and the Ripper, Bullet-Tooth Tony, and Crumpet Ponsensby-Smythe. Complete with an interesting development in the AJ Styles/Roman (BOOOOO!) Reigns (BOOOOO!) title picture.
Many folks noticed, last week, that Anderson and Gallows attacked the Usos. Roman's cousins. So was it just a coincidence since the former Bullet Clubbers were making a big splash in the tag team scene and the Usos, in their fall from championship grace, had become the division's bop bags? Or were they targeted for a reason? Turns out, the debuting duo may have had Styles in mind when they crushed the crusading cuzzes.
Power Rangers: First Look at Rita Repulsa
Elizabeth Banks will play alien witch Rita Repulsa in the upcoming Power Rangers film, and now Lionsgate has revealed the first image of the rebooted character.
According to Banks, the look is "definitely a modern and edgy re-imagining of the original Rita Repulsa." Director Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) swapped Repulsa's elaborate headgear and iconic costume for a more reptilian look—a green, scale-like outfit and pointy, gold talons.

GoT Actor Explains Why Tommen Isn’t the Right King for Westeros
The dead are coming on Game of Thrones, and the king of the Seven Kingdoms is grossly unprepared for that threat.
Actor Dean-Charles Chapman is upfront about his character's shortcomings; Tommen Baratheon might be a great guy, but as his grandfather, the late Tywin Lannister, once said to him, does that actually make him a great king?
In anticipation of Game of Thrones: Season 6's premiere, I sat down with Chapman to talk about what's ahead for Tommen, how he's going to handle the battle brewing between his mother Cersei and the High Sparrow, and whether he thinks Tommen is the right person to sit on the Iron Throne in the long run.
Willem Dafoe Joins Justice League Cast
Willem Dafoe is set to become a good guy in DC's Justice League movies.
However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, that's all the information we're getting for now. Dafoe will be appearing in both parts of the Justice League movies, but we don't know any more details of his character beyond him being one of the good guys. Dafoe, of course, played bad guy Green Goblin in the first Spider-Man film.
Dafoe is joining the likes of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and J.K. Simmons in their roles as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Commissioner Gordon respectively. The films will be directed by Zack Snyder, hot off the heels of directing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
