BAFTA Games Awards 2016 Nominees Revealed
The nominations for the BAFTA Games Awards 2016 have been announced, and there's a surprise frontrunner in the form of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, with 10 nominations to its name.
We called The Chinese Room's mystery-stroll through the English village of Yaughton a "beautiful, heart-breaking journey into the end of the world" in our review, and it seems the British awards panel agrees, handing it nominations for Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, Best Game, British Game, Game Innovation, Music, Original Property, Story, as well as two for Performance.
Oblique detective game, Her Story and open world epic, The Witcher 3 both have seven nominations (beating last year's most-nominated game Alien: Isolation, which had six). They're followed up by Batman: Arkham Knight, Life is Strange and Rocket League, all with five nominations.
Block’Hood Seems Like Sim City Meets Minecraft
A new ecology-focused neighbourhood-building simulator, Block’Hood has come to Steam via Early Access.
From the outside, Block’Hood appears to be 50 percent Sim City, and 50 percent Minecraft. In it, players use sets of blocks to build neighbourhoods, each with its own unique ecosystem, while keeping an ever-watchful eye on their buildings to avoid decay.
Block’Hood comes with access to over 90 building blocks, some of which have “implications"; you’ll need to find a way to balance the green with the urban, lest you create an environment not worth living in.
LittleBigPlanet Studio Takes Over Development of Dead Island 2
LittleBigPlanet 3 developer Sumo Digital has taken over the development of the beleaguered Dead Island 2.
Talking to MCV, Koch Media's CEO, Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, said: “Sumo showed so much understanding of the brand, had creative ideas and an excellent, vision that was aligned with our own.
“It just made perfect sense for us to move the project to them. We will reveal more details at a later stage, but for now I’d like to say that we are obviously super excited about the progress that we are making with them.”
“It’s an honour to be charged with the evolution of such an important franchise in Deep Silver’s catalogue,” added Sumo COO Paul Porter. “We’re looking forward to exceeding fan expectation with an ambitious design that we’re confident will take bone-crunching, visceral, zombie action to a whole new level.”
Next Fallout 4 Patch Arrives on Consoles This Week
Fallout 4’s next patch will arrive on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 before the end of the week, according to Bethesda.
Patch 1.4 brings with it add-on support, extra art customisations, super mutant and raider clutter, new signs, more metal and wooden door options, as well as a host of bug fixes.
More importantly for some, the patch also readies Fallout 4 for add-on content. March sees the release of the first piece of DLC, Automatron; next month comes Wasteland Workshop, and a larger, more story-driven offering follows in May called Far Harbor. It’s worth noting, Bethesda plans to extend DLC past these first three pieces.

Mars Mission to Explore Planet’s Interior Set for May 2018
NASA's recently suspended launch involving the InSight lander and its mission to Mars has been rescheduled, and is now targeting a launch window beginning May 2018.
The main goal of the Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport mission, NASA explains, is to study the interior of the red planet and come away with a better understanding of how rocky planets are created and how such planets evolve over time. The lander was supposed to start its mission this month, but a vacuum leak in its seismometer was enough to make NASA postpone the endeavor.
Why Black Widow is Especially Troubled in Civil War
As more info is revealed on Captain America: Civil War, a question some fans have asked is what in the world is Black Widow doing on Iron Man’s team, as Captain America and Iron Man come into conflict with one another?
It certainly seems Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) has a closer bond with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) than Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), especially following the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. On top of that, her friendship with Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) – who sides with Captain America -- is an especially old and close one in the MCU, making it all the more notable she is now fighting both of them.
