In an interview with Yahoo, both stars were asked about how they felt in response to critic's low rating of the movie. YouTube user SabConth noted Ben Affleck's somber face, and used the opportunity to layer Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence" over it, a la Arrested Development. Hence, the Sad Batman meme was born and we were all the better for it.

As of writing, Batman v Superman sits at a 30 percent score on critic aggregate Rotten Tomatoes, though the fan rating is at 74 percent.
