Tye Sheridan Cast in Spielberg’s Ready Player One
X-Men: Apocalypse actor Tye Sheridan has won the starring role in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Ready Player One.
Per Deadline, Sheridan has been cast as protagonist Wade in the adaptation of Ernest Cline's sci-fi novel. He will play against Olivia Cooke and Ben Mendelsohn, who star as Art3mis and the villainous Nolan Sorrento, respectively.
Sheridan will also flex his genre film muscles as young Cyclops in Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.
Last year, Spielberg described Ready Player One as "a crystal ball into exactly what is going to be happening not in 30 or 40 years but in between 5 and 10 years from now, where a virtual world becomes almost like a drug of choice and where we are spending more time in a nonorganic space than we are breathing and eating and interacting in real life."
What to Expect from Legends of Tomorrow’s Older Green Arrow
In the second part of my new Stephen Amell interview – click here for what he had to say about the current storylines on Arrow in part one – we turn to the actor’s big guest role on Legends of Tomorrow this week. While Amell has already guest starred as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on Legends, he’ll be doing so in a very different manner this time out – playing the Oliver of 2046.
Amell discussed this version of Oliver, which sports both the classic Oliver Queen comic book goatee and is missing an arm, much like the older version of Green Arrow seen in The Dark Knight Returns. We also discussed 2046’s Connor Hawke (Joseph David-Jones), the possibility of Green Arrow ever meeting Supergirl (now that The Flash is doing a crossover) and much more.
Supergirl: First Photos of Laura Vandervoort as Indigo
A batch of new photos for next week's episode of Supergirl provide fans with their first look at Laura Vandervoort as Indigo.
In the episode—aptly titled "Solitude"—Kara (Melissa Benoist) travels to Superman's iconic fortress in the hopes of learning how to take down the dangerous villain who can transport via the Internet. For a sneak peek at what's to come, check out the gallery below.
In addition to Indigo, Kara faces another formidable adversary in Italia Ricci's Siobhan Smythe (aka Silver Banshee), who made her Supergirl debut during this week's episode. Find out what we thought of her introduction by reading IGN's review of "Truth, Justice and the American Way."
Anti-Monitor Claims Another Victory in Justice League
In today's Justice League #48 by Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok, the all-new, all-different Anti-Monitor has toppled yet another powerful threat in The Darkseid War.
Warning: this article contains spoilers for Justice League #48!
Having killed Darkseid in Act I, the Anti-Monitor is laying siege to the Earth. The Justice League has banded together with the remnants of the Crime Syndicate in order to stop the Anti-Monitor, going so far as to give Ultraman some Kryptonite to munch on to restore his many superpowers. Being an evil analogue of Superman, he’s got a lot.
Mortal Kombat Secrets Revealed Over 20 Years Later
A long-time Mortal Kombat player has documented secret menus in the first three games more than 20 years later.
The so-called "EJB Menus" — presumably named after Mortal Kombat co-designer Edward J. Boon — were first discovered last year by The Cutting Room Floor. Now, the secrets found in Mortal Kombat 1, 2, and 3 have been documented on video by YouTube user YourMKArcadeSource.
The Easter eggs largely act like debug menus, particularly in the first two games. Users can run diagnostics, skip to character endings, and program initials into the leaderboards. The menus also reveal a "Hello" screen which shouts out multiple names (including "mom") for several seconds.

Dark Knight 3’s Master Race Shows Batman Their Power
In today’s Dark Knight III: The Master Race #3 by Frank Miller, Brian Azzarello and Andy Kubert, Quar and his Kryptonian followers make a horrific show of destructive force, showing just what Batman and company are up against.
Warning: this article contains spoilers for The Dark Knight: The Master Race #3!
Quar and his Kryptonian brethren issue a threat to the world, giving them three days to surrender and worship them as gods. To prove he means business, Quar gives a few of his followers a communion of special seeds that he says harness the fire that burned within Krypton. We then witness an act of horror as a follower kamikazes into Russia’s capital, resulting in a massive explosion not unlike an atomic bomb, completely destroying Moscow.
Pamela Anderson Has Been Offered a Baywatch Cameo
Pamela Anderson was offered a role in the new Baywatch movie, but the actress is playing hard to get.
Anderson, who played C.J. Parker in the original television series, told ET Canada she turned down the studio's initial offer, but hasn't ruled out the role entirely. "I haven't turned it down completely yet," she said. "But I have turned down what they offered me. But we'll see what happens."
Key Lime Slime Twinkies Are the Next Ghostbusters Tie-in
Looks like we're not only getting Ecto-Cooler HI-C, but Ghostbusters Twinkies as well.
Hostess will release its Key Lime Slime Twinkies, presumably, around the time the movie hits theaters. An official release date is not known at this time. However, an image was recently shared on the ENM Sales Twitter account. The date on the box—which looks to be an expiration date—reads April 6, 2016. Perhaps they'll show up before then?

Four figures have been announced so far—Tracer, "the time-jumping test pilot;" Reaper, "the mysterious mercenary;" Widowmaker, "the ice-cold assassin;" and Winston, "super-intelligent, genetically enhanced gorilla."
The first three are regular-sized Funko Pop! figures, while Winston comes super-sized at six inches.
No word on their pricing, but Funko confirmed the collection will release in May. We've reached out to Funko to see what other characters will be added to the line-up, and will update when more information is released.
