Thor: Ragnarok: Cate Blanchett Not a Certainty
While Cate Blanchett was reportedly in talks to play the villain in Thor: Ragnarok, it appears the actress isn't a lock for the upcoming Marvel film, but would "love" to be involved.
"I don’t know what I’m going to do, actually," Blanchett told USA Today backstage at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala. "After every film, you think: 'OK, I’m done, I’m done now, that’s enough.'"
When asked specifically about starring in Ragnarok, Blanchett said she "would love that," adding with a smile that she'd "love to get fit and punch people." The identity of the film's rumored villainess is still a mystery, though, Amora the Enchantress or Hela the Goddess of Death are likely possibilities.
No End for the Walking Dead Planned; AMC Open to More Spinoffs
AMC's executives are "not actively talking about the end of The Walking Dead," the network announced. In an interview with Vulture, AMC network chief Charlie Collier and programming president Joe Stillerman opened up about the future of the series.
"The answer to how long the show will go on in some way is directly correlated with the health of the storytelling in the comics," Stillerman said. And the comics are doing well with creator Robert Kirkman at the helm—"he still writes every line of dialogue in those books."
"He sort of felt like, in real life, this goes on for a very long time. We're along for that ride."
TBS’ Angie Tribeca Spoofs Cop Shows, Naked Gun-Style
Today at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, the cast and producers of TBS' new Naked Gun-style comedy series, Angie Tribeca, appeared for a Q&A session - including husband/wife co-creators Steve and Nancy Carell, and star Rashida Jones.
Steve Carell spoke first about the idea behind Angie Tribeca - which stars Jones, Hayes MacArthur, Justified's Jere Burns, and Deon Cole as members of the LAPD's elite RHCU (Really Heinous Crimes Unit) - and how it all stems from the name "Angie Tribeca" itself, which he and Nancy came up with one day. "The name just made us laugh," he revealed. "And we sort of built the character based on the name and it expanded over time. And we created this world of who this detective would be."

320,000 Time Warner Cable Accounts May Be Compromised
The email passwords of up to 320,000 Time Warner Cable accounts may have been stolen.
The telecommunications company told Reuters the information was likely obtained through phishing attacks or data breaches of outside companies that store account information of Time Warner customers. Time Warner's own systems, however, don't appear to have been breached.
Individuals whose information was compromised will be contacted directly by Time Warner and encouraged to change their email password.

He even went as far as to rearrange all of the text seen in the movie, including the opening and closing credits.
When asked how he was able to remix the film, Bucy said he created an app to mark the location of every word in the movie.

Apple Buys Startup Company That Uses AI to Read Facial Expressions
The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple has bought a start-up called Emotient that has developed AI capable of reading emotions through facial expressions.
According to Wired, By using deep neural networks made to resemble the networks of neurons in our brains, programs like Emotient's are able to scan a vast amount of data and learn things like which facial expression or tone of voice corresponds to a particular emotion.
The applications for such technology are huge. Up until their purchase by Apple, Emotient offered their services for consumer research, videotaping people and reading every frame for key performance indicators like attention, level of engagement, and just whether or not they looked happy with the product. How Apple intends to use the tech, however, is currently unknown.
