CES 2016: Dell to Offer Discounted Oculus Rift PC Bundles starting at $1600
Palmer Luckey’s original estimate of a PC and Oculus Rift bundle costing $1500 wasn’t too far off the mark. Tonight, Dell and Oculus announced a partnership that would bundle the Rift with an Alienware PC starting at $1600. For that you get the recommended hardware to run the Rift and the Rift headset, of course.
Oculus will be slashing $200 off the price of its $600 virtual reality headset when bundled with the Alienware X51 and Dell XPS 8900 desktop computers, both of which start around $1199. For gamers who don’t have the recommended specs to support the Rift, these bundles are a great deal.
CES 2016: Alienware Unveils World’s First OLED Gaming Laptop
Alienware announced the world’s first gaming laptop featuring an OLED display. OLED offers a few distinct advantages over the traditional LCD panels found in notebooks and monitors like deeper blacks since there’s no need for a backlight and lower latency. In fact, Alienware claims OLED enables the display to have a one millisecond refresh rate.
While OLED screens have been seen in smaller devices like cellphones and even non-gaming laptops, Alienware is the first to market with an OLED gaming laptop with the display technology. OLED panels used to be prohibitively expensive in larger sizes but they're finally affordable enough to be placed in laptops like the Alienware.

The White House Responds to Making a Murderer Petition
Spoilers for Netflix's Making a Murderer ahead.
The White House has responded to a petition calling for the imprisoned subject of Netflix's Making a Murderer documentary series, Steven Avery, to gain a presidential pardon.
The 170,000-plus signature strong petition called for President Obama to free Avery, who was convicted for the murder of Teresa Halbach back in 2007. Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey were the central focus of the popular Netflix series, which posed a lot of troubling questions around the nature of their convictions.
“Thank you for signing a We the People petition on the Teresa Halbach murder case, currently featured on the Making a Murderer documentary series,” reads the statement from the White House. It then goes on to explain that President Obama cannot pardon state prisoners.
