Batman #48’s Big Joker Scene Explained
Today's Batman #48 continued the Superheavy story arc and brought about another round of exciting developments. We've got a recap of the big events and an interview with writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo.
Warning: this article contains full spoilers for Batman #48!
The issue began with a "reset" Joker talking to our "reset" Bruce Wayne on a familiar park bench. Throughout their conversation, Joker constantly hints at his tendency for violence and his past self, and just when you think he's going to do something crazy, he remains calm, transitioning his violent talk into a harmless figure of speech. Eventually, something he says sparks a fire within Bruce, and with the help of a loud noise off in the distance, the Joker disappears.
Multicopter Drone Sets Guinness World Lifting Record
Unmanned drones have already been used to pull teeth, and in the future will be used to deliver packages, but a group of students from the University of Oslo in Norway had a more modest goal in mind: setting a world record.
Appropriately named the Megakopter, the multicopter drone claimed its Guinness World Records title for "Heaviest payload lifted by a remote-controlled multicopter" after lifting 134lbs and 7.6 oz (61kg). According to GWR, in order for the feat to count, the lowest part of the lifted payload needed to be at least 1m (3.3ft) off the ground for at least 30 seconds.
Zack and Wiki Coming to Wii U Tomorrow
Capcom's Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbados' Treasure is coming to the Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow.
Zack and Wiki is an adventure puzzler that pleasantly surprised fans when it first released on the Nintendo Wii in 2007. The game follows Zack—a little pirate—and his best buddy, Wiki, as they journey through various island lands.
IGN reviewed Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbados' Treasure in 2007, giving it a 9.0, and praising the point-and-click adventure for its clever and rewarding puzzles. Zack and Wiki also boasts lasting replay value, as some stages can be finished in multiple ways, and there's always room for improving your score.
Spider-Man Reboot Release Date Moved Forward
Sony and Marvel's upcoming Spider-Man reboot will open in theaters on July 7, 2017.
The film, which stars Tom Holland as the web-slinging hero, was originally supposed to release on July 28, but Sony Pictures has opted to push its release forward by two weeks. In its place, the studio will be debuting its new Jumanji film, which has been moved from its prior release date of December 25, 2016.
Sony's Spider-Man reboot is being directed by John Watts and produced in partnership with Marvel Studios. In fact, Holland will be making his big screen debut as Spidey later this year in Captain America: Civil War. While the film's directors have remained tight-lipped on how Spider-Man will be entering the fray, details regarding his MCU debut may have leaked.

Star Wars: Episode 8 Release Delayed
Disney announced today that they've pushed the release of Star Wars -- Episode VIII from its original May 26, 2017, slot to December 15, 2017.
The studio put a positive spin on the postponement, citing how Star Wars: The Force Awakens (which was also originally slated for a May debut) opened to record-smashing success in December.
The Episode VIII release date change announcement comes on the heels of a rumor that the Rian Johnson-directed sequel was getting a rewrite.
The rumor claimed that new characters in Episode VIII were getting their roles diminished in favor of Force Awakens breakouts and returning heroes Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron. The report also claimed that shooting would be delayed a month, but Disney's press release today said Episode VIII is currently in pre-production and will begin principal photography in London next month.
