Does Rainbow Six Siege Need a Proper Campaign?

Rainbow Six Siege is finally here, and we've been spending a lot of time taking out terrorists within the game's destructible environments.

Now that you've had some time to experience what the tactical shooter has to offer, we want to know what you think. Jump into the comments below and let us know your thoughts:

  • Is there enough content for a $60 game?
  • What do you think works (or doesn't) about the progression system?
  • Which Operator are you digging the most?
  • Is the lack of a proper single-player campaign a deal-breaker for you?

TheDJTeknology: Never use a mic on other games but it's a necessity in Rainbow. Having met a like minded group, when we execute as a team the feeling is euphoric! It will be the post launch support that will be the true test of the value. Maps are so nuanced it's going to take awhile to learn deeply.

Once Upon a Time: How Hook Became a ‘Malevolent Sociopath”

The darker side of Killian Jones has emerged once again, except this time, Hook has reached the pinnacle of evil. He's a Dark One, and unlike Emma, he's embraced the role. He didn't choose this path -- and in fact, specifically asked Emma to let him die -- but now that Hook has taken on the mantle, he's ready to fulfill his need for vengeance against Rumplestiltskin and to enact the collective Dark Ones' plan. He's opened the door to the Underworld to let them into Storybrooke.

With the midseason finale of Once Upon a Time looming, we spoke with Colin O'Donoghue about Hook's descent into darkness, his master plan, and where things stand with Emma.

How The Leftovers Became a Must-See in Season 2

Warning: Spoilers for HBO's The Leftovers follow...

While we here at IGN TV loved HBO's The Leftovers back in its first season (ranked high on my Top TV Shows of 2014 list, in fact), it wasn't exactly universally adored. The series left some viewers as cold and adrift as the world of the show itself - one in which 140 million people vanished without a trace one day, with no rhyme or reason.

Those who were fans however loved the risks, the emotion (even as depressing as it could be), the performances (Carrie Coon became a standout), the music (Max Richter's superb score!), and the underlying tale of a man scrambling to keep both his town, his sanity, and what was left of his family together while living in a perpetual powder keg.

Next Xenoblade Would Focus More on Story

Xenoblade Chronicles X just launched in the west today, but the game's director Tetsuya Takahashi is already talking about his plans for a possible third entry in the RPG series.

Speaking with Gamereactor, Takahashi touched upon another Xenoblade game when asked about the future of the franchise, saying the next entry would be more story-driven. "While Xenoblade Chronicles was a true story-driven JRPG, we took a rather different approach with Xenoblade Chronicles X. You could say it doesn't really feel like a typical JRPG: what really sets it apart from other JRPGs is that the game world — the planet Mira — is really vast.

Sony Trademarks More PS2 Games, Possibly for Emulation

Sony has filed more trademarks for classic PlayStation 2 games, hinting at further backwards compatible titles on PlayStation 4.

We've known this was coming for a while. Sony confirmed PS2 emulation back in November. We got our first look at the feature in action thanks to leaked footage of Dark Cloud on PS4.

This, however, is our strongest hint as to what titles will be available when the function launches. The trademarked games include Rogue Galaxy, Mark of Kri, War of the Monsters, and of course Level 5's city builder/dungeon crawler Dark Cloud.

Marvel’s ‘Apocalypse Wars’ Event Set to Rage in 2016

Villainous X-Men mainstay Apocalypse is set for a return to comics in 2016.

Marvel announced a new X-Men-centric event, titled Apocalypse Wars, today at the Brazilian Comic Con Experience. Details are slim, though an image of the announcement suggests that it will occur across Marvel's three main X-books: Uncanny X-Men, All-New X-Men, and Extraordinary X-Men.

A teenage, more heroically-inclined version of Apocalypse named Genesis currently stars in All-New X-Men. Last year's Axis event was last time we saw the classic Apocalypse, where Genesis briefly transformed into his evil self before reverting back. The Age of Apocalypse version of the character also played a small part in this year's Secret Wars event.
