Google Wants to Bring Fiber to Chicago and Los Angeles

Google is hoping to bring its fiber internet to two huge cities in the future: Chicago and Los Angeles.

On the official Google Fiber blog, director of fiber expansion Jill Szuchmacher explains that better, faster internet speeds in those cities could greatly help to "boost their creative cultures." From hundreds of small businesses in Chicago, to the indie musicians and YouTube stars living in L.A.

The pair of cities join 18 other areas that either have fiber internet, or are on the list of soon-to-be "fiber cities." Currently, fiber internet is live in Austin, TX; Provo, UT and Kansas City, MO, while other potential fiber cities include San Antonio, San Jose, Phoenix and Portland.

NBC Renews The Blacklist for Season 4

The Blacklist has been renewed for a fourth season, according to series creator Jon Bokenkamp.

In a podcast interview with The Blacklist: Exposed (via The Hollywood Reporter) Bokenkamp announced NBC's early renewal, saying: "We knew about that a while ago, it’s one of those things that’s hard to keep quiet. But yes, we’re renewed through the fourth season. Hopefully we don’t tank that out, we got a lot of story to tell."

The Blacklist now joins Blindspot, which NBC renewed for a second season last month. Both shows have been renewed a bit early, but considering the continuing popularity of the James Spader drama and Blindspot's high ratings, it's a logical move for the network.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be a major departure from its predecessor. According to director Peyton Reed, the sequel will be a different genre entirely.

"I think there's probably going to be some aspects that maybe call back to the tone of this movie, but for Ant-Man and the Wasp, we have an entirely different template," Reed told CBR. "We know what that template is, and we have an entirely different genre template for that movie. But it's going to remain a surprise. But yes, that's already been decided."

Reed also discussed the involvement of screenwriter Adam McKay, confirming he'll be "back in some capacity," along with production writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari.

It's also, traditionally, the season when WWE programming gets more than a little craptastic. It's probably the weakest time of the year since fall really has no mega PPV to act as the nucleus. To be the driving force for storylines. Survivor Series once may have been that, but it's been decades since that show was truly powerful.

In an interview with Eurogamer, senior designer Derek Carroll discussed the studio's new strategy. "With Taken King we are moving to a more event-based model - things like Festival of the Lost and Sparrow racing, which is our winter event, and then smaller events such as Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris every weekend," he said.
