NASA Releases Footage of The Sun in Ultra-HD
NASA has released 4K footage of the sun, giving us the best look yet at the center of our solar system.
The footage comes from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), which keeps watch on the sun at all times. It captures 10 different wavelengths of light, and each wavelength was assigned a unique color for this footage. At one point a wavelength represented by blue gives us a look at our sun that appears straight out of science fiction.
NASA says it takes a team of specialists about ten hours to produce one minute of footage, and the resulting video is 30 minutes long, so plenty of time and care went into capturing these images.
Steve Watts is a freelance writer who's not the only one staring at the sun. You can read more of his keen insights by following him on Twitter and IGN.
