PayDay 2 Developer Tweaks Controversial Microtransaction
PayDay 2 developer Overkill has slightly tweaked how its handling microtransactions.
According to the latest changelog, safe drills have been added to the card loot drop reward table.
The news comes after the release of the Black Market update, which introduced random loot drops via locked safes. Prior to the latest changelog, the only way to access the aforementioned safes was by purchasing drills with real-world money from the Steam marketplace.
In our review of PayDay 2, we said: “Played as intended with a group of friends, PayDay 2 is much like one of its heists: things can get a little sloppy, but the potential payoff is big. Parts of its presentation are lacking, and the state of its single-player is criminal, but overall, it's a deep, addictive co-op shooter that tickled my inner burglar.”
