Arrow: Season 4 Will Introduce More Humor Using “Green Arrow”
Having been with Arrow as a writer/producer from the show’s first season, Wendy Mericle is now serving as co-showrunner, alongside Marc Guggenheim, for Season 4, which premieres on Wednesday.
There’s a ton of new elements coming this season, starting with a new identity and costume for Oliver Queen, as he officially becomes Green Arrow. On top of that, there’s the new villain, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), new allies like Curtis Holt -- AKA DC Comics’ Mr. Terrific -- played by Echo Kellum and a promise from all involved that Season 4 will begin to lighten the tone of Arrow a bit – especially coming off a particularly angst-filled Season 3.
I sat down with Mericle to discuss Arrow: Season 4 and how the show is juggling their new inclusions with what’s already set up, keeping different sects of the fandom happy (including those deeply invested in “Olicity” vs. those wanting the comic book/action elements) and much more.
The Man Who Almost Directed The Martian
We recently chatted with Drew Goddard, the Cabin in the Woods filmmaker and former Daredevil showrunner, on his screenplay for the new Matt Damon sci-fi blockbuster The Martian, and how he gave up the director’s chair – only to be replaced by his hero Ridley Scott.
IGN: Drew, you’ve spoken about wanting to keep “the vibrant soul of the book” The Martian. What did you mean by that?
Drew Goddard: The thing I love about the book is that it has this spirit of optimism in the face of tragedy. It’s a man who’s stranded by himself on Mars and I think in most other people’s hands that would be very dour. And in

Ranking Halloween Horror Nights’ Awesome Mazes
What a year for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando. 2015 marks the 25th anniversary for the popular event at the Florida theme park, and clearly the intention was to go very big for such a notable anniversary. And they delivered in a huge way, with a standout year highlighted by some amazing and memorable mazes.
Ranking the Halloween Horror Nights 25 mazes was really about going through what was “just” good up to the many outright great attractions, because there were no duds this time out. Even the lowest-ranked mazes were marked by some very creative highlights and if they weren’t as scary as others, they were still fun to look at, seeing all the detail each room was filled with.
