Spider-Man Has “Great Purpose” in the MCU
Marvel Studios Kevin Feige is geeking out just as much as the rest of Marvel fans about Spider-Man getting a chance to join the MCU. Through a partnership with Sony Pictures, the web-slinging superhero, being played by Tom Holland, will first be introduced in 2016's Captain America: Civil War before getting a standalone movie in 2017.
During a Q&A promoting the Blu-ray release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Feige opened up to reporters about how special bringing 15-year-old Spider-Man into the MCU is for him. He reflected about how he first worked on the original Spider-Man trilogy during his early days at Marvel, and how he appreciated Sony's vote of confidence in handing their flagship superhero franchise back into Marvel Studios' hands.
GTA Online’s Best New Freemode Events
There are two clear standout game types in GTA Online’s recent Freemode events update, or at least there are for me. The first is ‘Penned In’, where players in various vehicles need to remain beneath a shifting and shrinking dome, moving across the map. The second is ‘Hunt the Beast’, where players must cooperate to track down a fast and powered-up ‘Beast’ player who is only ever displayed on the map for limited bursts of time.
‘Penned In’ is one of those rare game types that's just as much fun to spectate as it is to play, although I say that from the perspective of someone who had to search the web to confirm whether the ‘S’ in eSports is really internally capitalised. Apparently it is.
New Cars, New Track Available for Project CARS
Slightly Mad Studios has today revealed new content for Project CARS, available now. The Aston Martin Track Expansion features three Aston Martin vehicles and a new track, Mojave.
The cars include the 1959 Aston Martin DBR1 (which finished 1-2 at the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans), the 2009 Aston Martin DBR1-2 (built to celebrate the 40-year anniversary of the 1959 1-2 victory, it won the 2009 Le Mans Series Championships and finished on the podium in every race), and the 2014 Aston Martin Vantage GTE (the automaker’s current contender in GTE sports car racing).
The track, Mojave, is a private testing ground in the Nevada wilderness and consists of five race layouts and a special open testing layout where players can put vehicles through their paces (it includes a banked oval, drag strip, hillclimb, tight corner sections, and a skid pan).
BvS Rated PG-13 by the MPAA
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has received a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).
EW reports the film earned the rating due to its “intense sequences of violence and action throughout, and some sensuality.” It is not clear what the MPAA constitutes as "some sensuality" in the film, but judging by the trailers, there appears to be plenty of intense action and violence. The PG-13 logo can be seen on the official Dawn of Justice website splash page.

SHIELD: Re-Watch (and Analyze) the Premiere’s Final Scene
Full spoilers for Agents of SHIELD's Season 3 premiere episode below.
The good news first: Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) isn't dead on Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. Now the bad news: She also doesn't seem to be on Earth. In the coda at the end of the Season 3 premiere, viewers saw Simmons had survived her trip through the Kree Stone but is somewhere dark, dangerous and otherworldly.
Was watching the scene just once not enough for you? Fortunately IGN has you covered. Here is the mysterious sequence, posted online for everyone to analyze and re-analyze to try to figure out where Simmons was taken.
While Agents of SHIELD didn't offer any clear answers, there are enough clues to start speculating where she ended up. Here are my three picks for the likeliest places she landed.
Sydneysiders: Don’t Miss George Miller in Conversation
This is a PSA to let Sydneysiders (or anyone visiting Sydney on the relevant dates) know they can still buy tickets for a conversation with George Miller.
Mad Max: Fury Road - Creating the Apocalypse takes place on the 11th of October at 1.45pm (until 3.45pm) at the Sydney Opera House. You can book tickets here.
Writer-director George Miller will make an exclusive on-stage appearance alongside Fury Road co-writers Brendan McCarthy (also the illustrator) and Nico Lathouris.
There will be a Q&A component, and we'd definitely recommend you ask about Fury Road sequel possibilities to see if we were on the money with any of our speculations about where Mad Max could go next.
Marvel Movies Will Eventually Reference the TV Shows
Marvel's various TV shows have spent several seasons dealing with the aftermath of the events of Marvel's movies, and the films will begin returning the favor. During a Q&A promoting the home video release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige called the situation "inevitable."
"I think that's inevitable at some point as we're plotting the movies going forward and they're doing the shows," he explained during the Age of Ultron event at the Hero Complex Gallery in Los Angeles on September 29th.
The issue thus far, he said, is that the schedules for the TV shows and movies "do not always quite match up to make that possible."
"It's easier for them. They're more nimble and faster and produce things quicker than we do, which is one of the main reasons you see the repercussions of Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron in the show," Feige said. "Going forward and certainly as they begin to do more shows and cast them with such great actors as they have -- particularly Daredevil -- that that may occur. A lot of it is by the time we start doing a movie, they'd be midway through a season; by the time it comes out they'd be done with the second, starting the third season. Finding timing on that is not always easy."
Beautiful Moments in Gaming (2005-2014)
The past 10 years in video games have pushed visuals to new heights of photo-realism. At the same time, the rise of brave, independent games has given a voice and a palette to artists who may not have had an opportunity in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Between these two spectrum, we’ve been treated with a slew of incredible visual experiences that have provided countless moments of beauty and awe. Here are some of our favorites of the past decade. Oh, and be warned, we dig into some spoilers for games like Braid and The Last of Us.
Fumito Ueda and company’s incredible PS2 follow up to Ico took the slow and somber beauty of their first game, and moved the goal-posts to a completely different planet. From the opening cutscene where Wander and his faithful horse carry the body of a sleeping woman into an ancient and abandoned temple, we knew we were in for something special. The first time we stumbled upon any of the 16 Colossi hit us with a supreme sense of awe, dread, and melancholy, and has made the long wait for The Last Guardian a tough one.
Former Robin Chris O’Donnell Reveals His Favorite Batman
Former Robin Chris O'Donnell has revealed his favorite Batman, and it's not Val Kilmer or George Clooney.
In a new interview with FOX411, O'Donnell said that Adam West was his favorite dark knight.
"For me it will always be Adam West," said O'Donnell. "I loved the show. I just watched a documentary about him and his career and facing the challenge of being Batman. I worked with two very talented actors: Val
and George. We had a lot of fun George and I, but the film was a disaster."
