Star Wars Battlefront’s ‘Fighter Squadron’ Mode Revealed
EA and DICE have announced Fighter Squadron, a new aerial vehicle-only multiplayer mode for Star Wars Battlefront. A new trailer debuted at Gamescom 2015 showed X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter combat above Sullust, in addition to playable A-Wings, TIE Interceptors, the Millennium Falcon, and Boba Fett's iconic Slave I ship.
The premise of Fighter Squadron sees the Rebel Alliance hunting down an escaping Imperial transport shuttle, which the Empire team must protect. Each ship has its own abilities, giving the A-Wing and its homing-missiles a different role than the X-Wing, for example.
This Is the Lexus Hoverboard in Action
Car manufacturer Lexus has lifted the lid on its hoverboard and release footage of the board in action.
The company first claimed it developed a rideable hoverboard in June, but with threadbare details or proof of it working. A few days later, a skatepark Lexus converted for its hoverboard was discovered in Cubelles, Barcelona.

The board uses superconducting magnetic levitation tech so it must be ridden on a magnetic metal surface to operate properly. Lexus embedded almost 200 meters of magnetic track into the specially constructed skate park to demonstrate the hoverboard.
Final Fantasy 15 Dawn Trailer
During Gamescom 2015, Square released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XV, titled "Dawn."
Its official description reads, "The destiny of the stars is set in motion 15 years before the events of FINAL FANTASY XV. As the shadow of turmoil is cast over the land, there is hope on the horizon as an unbreakable bond is forged between a father and son, and the light of a new dawn rises on a hero."
The emotional trailer begins with the text "Fifteen years ago...Fate would fall to the father and son of Lucis" before cutting to a handful of events that helped shape the world of XV.
A young Luna is shown terrified, as she attempts to escape the clutches of a soldier. We then cut to a security checkpoint in a city patrolled by armed guards, but most importantly, a super cute dog.

Chicken to Get $2,500 3D Printed Prosthetic Leg
A three month old chicken named Cicely is about to be fitted with a US$2,500 3D printed prosthetic limb, Reuters reports.
Owner Andrea Martin was given a choice to either fit Cicely with a prosthetic limb or euthanase her after she was born lame due to a torn tendon in her right leg.
"It was a no-brainer," Martin told Reuters. "She needs to be able to live a normal life.”
Dr. Emi Knafo will remove Cicely’s right leg his Wednesday and will then run a CT-scan on the left limb to be used for a 3D printed prosthetic. The chicken will be fitted with the prosthetic in two weeks time.
Martin, who runs a Massachusetts-based farm that specializes in chicken rehabilitation, has previously spent US$3,000 on a hysterectomy for a hen.

Man in the High Castle: Imagining a Nazi-Led America
At the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour this week, the cast and producers of The Man in the High Castle spoke about the new Amazon series. Based on the novel by Philip K. Dick (whose stories inspired Blade Runner, Total Recall and Minority Report), the story imagines an alternate history where the Nazis and their allies won World War II, picking up in the former United States in 1962 (the year the book was released).
The Man in the High Castle Pilot Review
Executive Producer/showrunner Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files) spoke about how much discussion they had about how society would have developed differently if we’d lost World War II, saying, “Obviously, we started with an alternative history that is in the novel. And, then, honestly, the biggest challenge was finding the visual alternative history, and that was something the pilot director, David Semel, confronted, because we knew from the pilot on we were establishing the rules of this world and we needed to honor them however many years this show went forward. So that does come down to hairstyles, wardrobe, types of vehicles. You know, there's a very big shot of Time Square very early in the pilot episode. Well, what would Time Square look like if we didn't live in a corporate capitalist society? What would it look like if the Nazis had proceeded for another 17 years ruling the world? What would their values be? What would their commercial values be? Would there be cars with fins? Would you have a kind of space age optimism in the design of home appliances? So there's literally thousands of props and set design and costume and hair design issues that David Semel and, then, our series director, Dan Percival, have been on the front lines of deciding.”
