Grayson And Turtles Dominate Upstarts Panel

DC Comics played up the new blood in their The Upstarts panel, which featured Lee Bermejo, Tom King, Steve Orlando, Mark Russell, Bab Tarr, James Tynion, Cameron Stewart and Tim Seeley.

Fellow creator Brenden Fletcher moderated and began by mentioning the somewhat ambiguous title of the panel. He then took to the books, beginning with the Black Canary series he's currently working on with Annie Wu. Talking of how her supporting role in Batgirl (also written by Fletcher) lead into her own series, Fletcher described the title as "A Kung Fu road trip." He likened Dinah's stint as band lead to Clark Kent's own day job, and went on to discuss what we can expect in upcoming issues. "The first few issues will focus on what this band is and how they can stay together," Fletcher explained. "In issues #4 and #5, someone new will take the stage and maybe this will be the next new villain for Black Canary."

Deadpool Trailer Puts R-Rating to Good Use

Audiences got their first look at the new Deadpool trailer during 20th Century Fox's panel at Comic-Con today. Based on the footage shown, the upcoming Deadpool movie is definitely putting that R-rating to good use.

Some quotes include: "You look like Freddy Krueger face f***ed a topographical map of Utah," said by Weasel to an unmasked Wade Wilson, and, "You look like an avocado f***ed an older avocado."

Colossus, who appears in the trailer, is at one point referred to as a "big chrome c***-gobbler."

The video shown was plenty violent, too: in one scene, Deadpool leaps over a crashed car and shoots three henchmen through the skull with a single bullet.

At least one head explodes.

X-Men Apocalypse Has a ‘More Violent’ Professor X

Speaking about X-Men: Apocalypse at San Diego Comic-Con, Charles Xavier actor James McAvoy told IGN, "At the end of this movie, you definitely see my character in a slightly different frame of mind, maybe being a bit more violent."

McAvoy didn't elaborate on the cause and effect of Xavier becoming more violent. When asked about his future on the X-Men film franchise, McAvoy said he expected it to go on as long as "Simon

keeps doing interesting things with it." And, of course, if Apocalypse makes money.

"I'm well up for it," he said about getting involved with more than the three X-Men films he'd already signed up for. McAvoy also remained optimistic about the future of the film series without Magneto and Mystique.
