Wrestling Wrap Up: Arrow Star to Feud with Stardust?

There's a Fury Road War Party's worth of news and rumors to sift through this week so spray chrome paint in your mouth and let's ride to Valhalla!

First off, before I even get into the power and the glory that was last week's NXT: TakeOver event, I wanna talk about the big celebrity cameo on RAW last night. No, not the Entourage guys. Not THE BOYZ! Not Team Tourage. Not 47 Bronin. Not Douche Parade 9000. Let's talk Arrow. Could we be getting Arrow vs. Stardust? I'm not sure what the long term plans are, but it sure seems like something is in the works and that last night's confrontation between actor Stephen Amell and Stardust wasn't just a one-off.

Frictional first announced SOMA in October 2013, hinting at bits of its story with a series of mysterious live action videos and finally revealing its subaquatic setting with a gameplay trailer last year.

The team has been mostly quiet since then. We got a new SOMA screenshot in late February as Frictional prepped the game for closed beta, which officially launched in April, but that's been it... until now.

Game Streaming Tech Cuts Bandwidth by 80 Percent

Microsoft is working with a researcher at Duke University on a new bandwidth reduction tool which is able to reduce cloud game streaming bandwidth by 80 percent.

The philosophy behind Kahawai seems simple enough. Instead of having the servers do all the work, the processing duties are split up. So while the more powerful servers can handle the textures, shadows and other details, the local CPU will provide basic framework, or the "rough sketch" of the level.

Dividing up the workload this way has significantly reduced the amount of bandwidth required for cloud game streaming. A successful test run using Doom 3 at 60 fps showed no difference in quality when Kahawai was utilized, versus having the cloud servers handle all the processing.
