Joss Whedon Game For Directing a Star Wars Movie
Joss Whedon has been talking about his post-Marvel movie career, telling IGN that he’s definitely interested in directing a Star Wars film, but stating that he wouldn’t want to see the franchise crossover with the MCU.
Disney owns both properties these days, so while Whedon was doing the publicity rounds for Avengers: Age of Ultron, we asked him if he’d be interested in potentially relocating to a galaxy far, far away.
“Right now I’d be interested in a long nap! But are you kidding? It’s Star Wars! It’s always going to be Star Wars!”
Whedon is less interested in seeing the franchise merge with the Marvel Cinematic Universe however. “I rule out nothing” he explained. “But I think it would not be my choice. You have two enormously strong, very textured universes. To say we have just the one would be to in some way dilute them. I think it makes sense to keep them in their own time, which I believe was long ago and not so close by.”
Resident Evil HD Sales Pass 1 Million Milestone
Capcom has announced Resident Evil HD sales have passed the 1 million mark.
A blog post confirms the remaster, released in January on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, has officially reached the impressive milestone.
is in part because the dev team made a great product, but also because of the excellent word of mouth and general praise fans shared about the title," the post reads. "We want to thank everyone for rediscovering this modern classic - or thank you for trying it for the first time."
Originally released in 1996, this edition of Resident Evil actually builds upon the 2002 remastered GameCube edition, and tightens up the graphics even further.
UK Pre-Orders Take a Nosedive as Gamers Grow Wary
UK pre-order numbers have plummeted as gamers react to delays and high prices.
A report conducted by Ipsos MORI’s GameTrack project on behalf of MCV found 20 percent of UK gamers are either pre-ordering fewer titles or not pre-ordering anything.
Nine percent of those asked responded saying they've cut back on pre-orders in the last year, while 11 percent haven't pre-ordered anything at all. Only five percent of those asked said they pre-ordered more games, while 49 percent never pre-ordered anyway. About 10 percent hadn't changed their pre-ordering habits, while the rest didn't know.
Scarlet Witch Will Appear in Captain America: Civil War
Elizabeth Olsen has confirmed she will reprise her role of Scarlet Witch in Captain America: Civil War.
The actress, who makes her debut as Wanda Maximoff in Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, made the announcement during a Meet the Filmmakers event in London this week, E! Online reports.
"I guess I'm allowed to talk about that now," the actress confirmed, before explaining she'll be filming her scenes in Atlanta within the next two weeks. Marvel Studios has yet to announce anything officially.
Other Marvel stars confirmed to appear in the film include Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, and Chadwick Boseman's first appearance as Black Panther.
The Mummy Reboot Delayed by Almost a Year
The Mummy reboot has been delayed from June 24, 2016 to March 24, 2017 (in North America).
A press release from Universal Pictures also updated the release date for 'Untitled Universal Monster Franchise Film' from April 21, 2017 to March 30, 2018 (again, in North America).
Given the untitled monsters film is an Avengers-style team-up, which appears to be reliant on a certain number of preceding films, the impact of The Mummy movie's delay appears to have unsurprisingly shifted the monster mash-up.

A 4-Minute Chat With the Fantastic Four
The quartet of stars of Fantastic Four were on hand at CinemaCon today to promote 20th Century Fox's movie reboot of Marvel's first family of superheroes.
I sat down with actors Miles Teller (Reed Richards), Kate Mara (Sue Storm), Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm), and Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm) to briefly discuss the film. (It was a seriously short interview due to their schedule; fittingly enough, it ran exactly four minutes!)
IGN: We're now seeing more and more footage, and the thing I'm responding to is that old-school body horror thing. I'm wondering, because in the past Fantastic Four films -- with the exception of the Thing -- they kind of gloss over like, "Oh, these things happened to us," and they go on with the adventure. How much horror is in the movie and how much are your characters reacting to these, in some ways, horrible things that have happened to them?
Bungie is Phasing Out Destiny Commendations
Bungie will be phasing out Commendations along with the other changes to progression economy that are rolling out with Update 1.2.0 when the House of Wolves expansion hits.
Commendations are special currencies earned through levelling up Vanguard Commendation or Crucible ranks that are used to buy new weapons or gear on occasion.
“Essentially, they’re going away,” Bungie's Community Manager David Dague writes in the Weekly Update. “You'll no longer need them to acquire new weapons or gear. If you have a bunch of them stockpiled, you can burn them for reputation. Gaining reputation will speed you toward your next promotion, thus earning you another reward package. To prosper and equip yourself with new stuff, just earn Marks!”
Green Day: Rock Band Export Offer Expires Soon
Harmonix has offered a warning to Rock Band junkies via its official forum that the export offer for Green Day: Rock Band will only be available until April 30. If you own Green Day: Rock Band and want the tracks from the game to be available in your main Rock Band library (and haven’t exported them in the past five years) you should act now, lest you feel like a chump later.
As with previous disc exports and the small minority of DLC songs Harmonix has been unable to re-secure licensing for, players who have already exported Green Day: Rock Band will be completely unaffected. The tracks will remain in your central Rock Band song library for you to continue having a blast with.
Pacific Rim 2 Release Date Pushed
Following on from the news that Universal's Warcraft movie is facing a delay, the studio also announced Pacific Rim 2 will be pushed back by a handful of months.
The sequel to 2013's robots vs aliens movie was originally set to debut on April 7, 2017, and will now open August 4, 2017.
Director Guillermo del Toro has said that the film will follow on from the events of the first movie, focusing on original heroes Raleigh (Charlie Hunnam) and Mako (Rinko Kikuchi), and lead into a third film.
“The characters I love will return,” del Toro said last June. “Raleigh, Mako, Newt, Gottlieb and who knows, maybe even Hannibal Chau – but we are taking them into a fresh territory that will display amazing sights and battles. The first film set the stage and now we’re ready to have a blast.”
