Snyder & Capullo Address THAT Batman/Joker Twist

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Batman #40!

STK665600

Batman's "Endgame" story rocked the foundations of the Batman franchise today when, in a climactic bloody battle, Batman and Joker both died.

This shocking development came at the end of a six-issue arc where Joker returned -- fully healed from having his face cut off -- with a plan to infect Gotham City with a deadly Joker-virus. He also tried to trick Batman into thinking he was an immortal "Pale Man" who had haunted Gotham since its founding lifetimes ago. But at the end of the story, Batman discovered a cave containing a pool of Dionesium -- a green liquid with healing powers. Joker showed up and detonated explosives so that the cave would collapse. Batman and Joker fought until they were both on the ground dying, and with Batman having found a cure for Gotham's infected, he resigned himself to his fate with the Joker as the cave-in buried them.

Why Joss Whedon Fought For a Daredevil Film

Joss Whedon has been talking about Daredevil, stating that he sees the character as Marvel’s Batman,  and explaining how he fought for the superhero to get a new movie rather than a TV show.

While doing the publicity rounds for Avengers: Age of Ultron – out now in UK cinemas – Whedon said “I fought for Daredevil to be a film instead of a TV show. Then under the auspices of Drew Goddard and Steve DeKnight… I’m dying to see the show but they released it just as I started the press tour!"

Whedon continued “If the show’s working, the show’s working. Comic books are serialised entertainment and a lot of them lend themselves to TV shows as much or more than they do to movies.

Gremlins Reboot Follows J.J. Abrams’ Remake Formula

The Gremlins reboot is reportedly set to be connected to the past films.

In an interview with Hit Fix, Chris Columbus, the writer of the original Gremlins film and executive producer of the reboot, said he's taking inspiration from J.J. Abrams' approach to rebooting a franchise.

"'Gremlins' is actually in good shape. When I saw Star Trek, I was like, 'This is the way you do it. You have to connect the audience emotionally to the past, by seeing Leonard Nimoy in that movie.' We're gonna apply that to Gremlins ... We're not gonna forget about the past."
